On this lonely December evening, a thin letter is slipped underneath your doorframe. The envelope is tinted a shade of purple, embossed with the swirling initials K.W. Curious as to why the envelope is addressed with your name, you open the letter and read as follows:
Dearest CBer (and AE(s) and/or CAPTCHA companions),
Congradulations! You have been chosen to participate in a free, relaxing vacation at Wylde Cabins and Resorts! Equipped with plush, homey cabins, built-in sauna, horse corral and stables, lone, winding trails through deep pine woods and an exquisite beach waterfront--you are guaranteed a pleasurable experience* and Wylde Cabins and Resorts! And it's all free**!
If you and other specifically chosen CBers who also received this letter decide to join us, all you need do is pack your bags, grab your AE(s) and/or CAPTCHA and step through the already enclosed portal*** that will transport you here, into the Wylde Land!

"I'm coming!" you loudly exclaim, digging through the envelope and pulling out a smooth, dark crystal square. The portal, do doubt. Hurriedly, you pack your bags and round up your AE(s) and/or CAPTCHA, not knowing just how "Wylde" this adventure will be.

- Once I say spots are closed, SPOTS ARE CLOSED. I will be forced to ignore late entries, due to the fact that I am only sending out 24 of the afore exhibited letters. Understood?

Hi, Vyolette! Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about this amazing story :) I've really enjoyed what you've posted so far, and I hope you decide to continue it someday!!

Oh, goodness gracious me, Mice. I had... completely forgotten about this. DX I'm sorry. I think that I would like to continue, but what with my book and the summer just being jam-packed (Not that I'm just making up excuses or anything.) probably not anytime before the summer is over? And I think I might've hit a wall with my plot, if that makes sense. Like, I had the basics figured out, but after I used those up... I dunno. It's just not coming to me as easily as it was when I first started this Ski Lodge. However, I did make a promise. And I'm going to keep it, just not setting it in motion for at least a few months. I appreciate you topping this, and I'm glad you enjoyed what I had written so far. : )

It's not quite the fall yet, but I'm taking a break from my book until July NaNo starts, and I was still in the mood to write. So here is a short little interlude to use as a filler until the next real section is released. Enjoy!

Day Three, Part One/Interlude (January 2, 2018)
The next morning while at breakfast, Catsclaw decided to tell Micearenice what he and Lydia had found out about the murders, since she seemed to know quite a bit about them already.
“Well I think we know all that,” Mice whispered to him after he had filled her in, casting sidelong glances at the other CBers milling about them. “All those people dying did happen just by accident.”
Legendria plopped herself down on the seat next to Micearenice, having overheard their conversation, and said, “Now the real question is: Who killed them?”
Mice gave her a warm smile, still feeling grateful for her rescue on the cliffside, and tried to let it be known that Legendria's assistance was welcomed.
After a moment, Catsclaw said, “My dibs are on Watchgirl. She's so quiet all the time. The perfect murderer!”
“There's nothing wrong with being quiet,” Legendria said with a frown. “Sometimes I like people better if they're less hyper.”
“That's not what I meant!” Said Catsclaw. “Sure, being quiet is fine, but-- “
Micearenice cut him off. “I actually suspect Watchgirl too. She's not quite as high on my list as Leeli or, possibly, Evergreen are, but there's definitely something about her that I can't quite place and yet still makes me uneasy.”
Legendria shrugged. “So what do you suggest we do? Spy on her?”
“'Spy' is the wrong word,” Catsclaw decided. “We will observe her. Watch this Watchgirl for a bit and see if we come up with anything... suspicious.”
“And ask a few questions, too,” said Mice. “I say we start with alibis before we dig too deep. If she has an alibi for both of the times of the, um, murders, we can automatically rule her out.”
“Great!” Said Catsclaw, a little too loudly. He glanced cautiously around him before he lowered his voice and said, “I mean, great. We'll be the CB detectives of this murder-filled resort.”
Raising an eyebrow, Legendria said, “Investigating... other CBers about... other murdered CBers?”
“Exactly. And I think I'll tell Lydia about our plan, too. I know she likes this investigating stuff. It's her thing.” He looked over his shoulder once again, muttering something about wondering where she was.
“I think that's alright,” Mice told him. “But can she be discrete about it all?”
Catsclaw snorted, startling both Legendria and Mice. “She's my AE, practically my double. Of course she can.”
Micearenice and Legendria swapped skeptical glances, but said nothing.

Nearby, listening intently, the murderer grumbled. Too much speculation was going on. It was time to cause another –ahem-- disruption. Catsclaw was harmless, as well a Legendria. But paired with the too-smart-for-her-own-good Micearenice, they could do some serious damage to the murderer's plan.
As soon as breakfast was over, the murderer put the next stage of their plan into motion.
