Tell me about y'all's novels, if you've started planning them yet. (Y'all might think I'm being Early on this, but novels can be created October 1st, so!) I have a general idea of the setting for my novel, and a general idea for the characters, and something resembling a plot (overdone though it may be). I need to find names for my characters, though.

back to the Pudding's Place

I've started writing mine, actually, although it's going to take forever. I want to wait until I feel like I'm good enough at writing to do it, but that would be silly, so I'm doing it now and planning to go back and edit it later on. Like, a lot. I'm going to have a hundred tons of editing to do.

I started writing it when I was about twelve, and I was a terrible writer back then. I'm actually not a great writer even now, but anyway, it's about a city in the sky and it falls out of the sky and two girls with magical shapeshiftng wings get lost in the lower world and have to find their way to each other and back home, and save the kingdom they've landed in along the way. I haven't planned everything out.

You said you needed names for your characters... Hehe. I have a list of names. It's about four pages long. I got most of them from movie credits and baby name websites. I can type it out if you want.

My novel is about two girls who go on a road trip together after high school and ~learn to love themselves~ along the way. I have a title!! The Summer of Stone Fruits. I was trying to find a (tentative?) title, and I was thinking about the kind of vibe I want my novel to have, and that led me to thinking of a poem I wrote for my significant other that referenced peaches as something I relish. And somehow all of that led to that particular title, which I'm pretty sure I'll keep unless the plot changes while I'm not looking.

I've started mine, too, actually! It's about four kids who go to a prestigious boarding school and discover that there are doors leading to other worlds. Then they find out that they must save said worlds. It's actually going to be a series, and I'm working on the first book. 

Viola, I personally would love to see your list, because although I have a name list, I don't have many names on it yet. I actually think it might make a good thread!

Honestly, I don't know. You could put it on Inkwell, but it might get pushed down by all the RPs. You could put it on BaB, but no one might see it. Maybe you should put it on CaC, PP, or DtE? I really don't know. It could kinda fit anywhere.

I'm starting to prepare for mine. I've planned out the plot, the main charicter, the settings and just about everything else without writing the book.

My story is about a girl named Ashlyn Penelope Wood who lives in a big city. One day she gets badly injured ( hit by a car maybe?) and goes into a coma. Well she is in a coma, her subconcious mind takes her to another world. She meets a star girl who was banished from the heavens because of the evil star prince and togeather they go to fight him. When they defeat him, they find out he is working  for a sorcerer on earth so they go back to earth to fight him. On the way, they come across a human who was a fox once but the sorcerer cursed him and he can only change back when the sorcerer is dead. When they find him the sorcerer, they start fighting a lost battle. In the middle of it, Ashlyn hears her name being called over and over again. Finally her name is called with sutch force that she is jerked from the world in her mind to the real world. She wakes up from the coma but forgets all about the other world. About a week later, she has a dream and in the dream she goes back to the fantasy world. She finds out that when she went back to her world, the force of the pull sent out a giant shockwave that defeated the sorcerer. Every night after that, she visits the fantasy world in her dreams. 

That's what I've got so far and I hope I can streach it into 40,000 words. If anyone can help, I need a name for the fox-boy. I have no idea what to call him.

There was a fox-boy on Kyngdom called Nicolai, a minor character. One of the alternate names we were considering was Darien. I don't know if you want to use either of those names, but there's the Character Names thread on the Inkwell if you don't.
