Music

What kind of music do you guys like? Also, what would you recommend to your friends on here? I really think that music shapes us into who we are. Do you agree? How would you say music has changed you? I would apologize for all the questions, but they're good ones. ;)

Blondie, Nirvana, The White Stripes, Lindsey Stirling and Hamilton are all amazing! I don't think that music has changed me, really, but helps me define who I am. *dramatic music plays*

Broadway, broadway, anything on broadway. Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, In the Heights, Wicked, School of Rock. Other than that... well I like Coldplay and Twenty One Pilots, and... a whole bunch of random stuff that's not specifically by any one person and that I can't really think of the name to because I'm too obsessed with DEH.

Yesss, music recommending! This is my absolute favorite thing to do!

Alright, so if you like Paramore, listen to the band PVRIS. They have a female lead singer who's awesome and are releasing a new album this year! Listen to the songs St. Patrick, Eyelids, or White Noise by them if you're looking for good songs.

My friend introduced my to Lorde and I like the songs Tennis Court and Yellow Flicker Beat by her.

FOB, TØP, Melanie Martinez, Halsey (esp. Hopeless! that's my favorite Halsey song) and Alessia Cara

OneRepublic has a few songs I like, such as Apologize, Counting Stars, and Love Runs Out

I also like a few songs by Train, such as Hey Soul Sister, Drive By, and Play That Song

Other Misc. Songs:

~1-800-273-8255 by Logic

~Capsize by FRENSHIP ft. Emily Warren

~Revolution by Diplo (Unlike Pluto Remix)

~Losin' Control by Russ

~Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish

~Thank You and American Dream by MKTO

~I'm Yours by Jason Mraz

~The Definition of Not Leaving by Hands Like Houses

~Whiskey Lullabies by Janet Devlin

~Fresh Eyes by Andy Grammar

~Uncover by Zara Larsson

~Home and That One Song by gnash

~West Coast and Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood

I have to go, but I will recommend more later!

I like Math rock primarily, and I even went to see TTNG in concert last year! Great show! Unfortunately a lot of the time there's a considerable amount of swearing in that genre, so if you thought Hamilton was bad, I'd stay away.

I also listen to Chillhop and other Lo-fi stuff, it's really relaxing and good for long car rides like the 13-hour one we made last week. This music and a lot of other electronica stuff has changed me quite a bit, yes, and I even enjoy producing and mixing my own now. I'm not a big fan of mainstream EDM or Techno, it feels like it's all just meant to be played in a nightclub once or twice and then forgotten about, but if you look deep enough there's some pretty good stuff in most every genre.

I absolutely love Halsey, Sia, Lorde, as well as music from musicals, most notably, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and La La Land!

Also, Admins, you've been really fast today!

Thanks. I'm trying to keep up.

ØH MY GØSH TWENTY ØNE PILØTS ARE SO AMAZING!!!!!! Felløw fans will understand the need tø crøss all yøur "ø's". (Clique pøwer, am I right? XD)

I also really like Imagine Dragons (their new album is fantastic!) and I also love listening to jazz. (Find a good jazz playlist somewhere and give it a listen; you'll be pleasantly surprised.)

Good luck in your hunt for music! Branching out musically is really great.

As for the other questions: I think I'd have to respectfully disagree on the point that music is one of the major factors that shapes us, at least for me. My dad is a musician, and he's always had a very fluctuating taste when it comes to music. I've sort of copied him in this respect, and I try to vary the types of things that I listen to. So, as a whole, because of my varying tastes, what I listen to doesn't really affect me on a daily basis. However.......

There are some songs, especially TØP, who's lyrics have really touched me on a deeper level, or pieces that have moved me. Also, one other amazing thing about TØP is that they're apparently Christians, which was HUGE for me. You really don't see many Christian artists writing mainstream music, and because of that, they're kind of heroes to me.

ANYWAYS, SORRY FOR THE RANT THAT WAS LONGER THAN I ANTICIPATED. Luna says "bzwg" Buzz wig? Ooh, like a wig with a buzzcut. Well, that's a bit weird but...... um........ who am I to judge? XD

Ah, if you're looking for inspiration, do I have the song for you. Scars to your beautiful by Alessia. It's the most inspiring song that I have ever come across. It's helped me through some dark times. I'm actually thinking about doing a solo for dance with this song.

And some of my other favourite include The A team, Shape of You (catchy beat), Fight Song, um....a few others that I can't remember.....

I LOVE Fall Out Boy! So much! Does anyone know what genre that falls (no pun intended XD) into? I'd like to listen to more of that type of music. Any recommendations?

I adore Scars to Your Beautiful and Fight Song as well. If I like a song, it's generally because of the lyrics, so I'd appreciate some good-lyrics recommendations as well. Thanks, guys!

Oh! I also listen to Hamilton! My brother Dumpun and I both got really into it and have memorised Aaron Burr, Sir. We'll occasionally (ok, WAY more than occasionally) start singing it! He gets to be Hamilton, Laurens, and Muligan, while I get to be Burr (naturally) and Lafayete! So much fun!
