Hi everyone! I'm
Chatterbox: Pudding's Place
Hi everyone! I'm
Hi everyone! I'm going to try something new. This is......My first solo write!!!
I will only be taking 10 people, and no AEs or CAPTCHAs. Sorry.
A loud beeping noise echoes in your dreams as the sun slowly rises, and you yawn as you roll out of bed and smack the alarm clock. The beeping only intensifies. You open your eyes fully, and when they adjust to the light, something is sitting on your desk that was not there last night.
Where the alarm clock used to be, there is now a small living...thing. What is it? It has huge lamp-like eyes... Wait. They are lamps. The entire creature is made of metal, even the spines running down its fat back.
The metal frog, as you decide to call it, has giant eyes, a large head, and no neck to speak of. Its mouth is lined on the inside with smooth gold, and the beeping comes from there. You get down on your knees so that your eyes are level with its, and the frog's head turns to look at you. The beeping gets louder and louder as it stares, and you can't seem to pull your gaze away. The heat in the room grows. Your limbs are lead, heavy and melting. You can no longer breathe...
Sooo...yeah! I have no idea where this is going! Well, maybe a tiny bit... ;) You'll see! I promise nobody dies.

I'm kinda confused here...
First up, why are we in a forest? I just got eaten my a robot frog, and now I'm in a forest, acting like nothing has happened.I'm sorta confused. Is there something I'm missing here?
Also, completely off topic, this bit reminds me of the part in the hobbit when they're in Mirkwood, and the elves are having the feast, and every time they get closer the feast moves farther and farther away.

__________
Meanwhile, there was a small party going on. In a clearing only fifty paces from the edge of the path, four girls were gathered around a short, but long, foldable wooden table.
Their chatter was apparently aimless, but a couple distinct words and phrases kept popping up. "Spy". "Witch". "Fabric of Space". "Kangaroo". "War ostriches".
A tall girl with short hair stood up, stretched her legs, and checked her watch. "Can you turn the music down?" she asked. "Just for a sec."
"Yep," said the redhead as she turned a dial on the portable radio. "Shouldn't they be here soon?"
"Yeah." Bluebird, the girl with the watch, closed her eyes and listened hard. There was no sound of feet or voices from the path. "Maybe we should go to the cabin and wait for them," she suggested.
Icy stood up too, and began to clear the table. "Help me pack up?"
Everyone pitched in, and soon the there was no trace of the gathering in the clearing. Dandelion folded up the table, and followed the others back to the path. She was glad that they were going back to the cabin. The woods always unnerved her, but not in a bad way. Just...like she wasn't alone.
Back at the small cabin, the girls unpacked their things.
Bluebird checked her watch again, and said, "It's getting late. They should be here. It's the rendezvous if they don't find us in the woods, which of course they won't."
Icy called from her chosen corner, "Can we call them somehow? I have a walkie-talkie."
"It's a good idea, but the question is, do they have one?" Dandelion added her wisdom to the conversation as she peeked out the door. "I don't see them yet."
Elementgirl sighed, and sat down at the desk to write. It had been a strange day, but she had no idea what was coming.
