Well, we haven't had one of these in a while, have we? Time for a new one, I say! Welcome, resident poets!
The rules are pretty simple. I am the first judge. I will give you a theme, and you must write a poem relating to the theme. Be creative with your interpretations! I will then judge the entries by a set date, and the winner will then be the next judge, and set the next theme. And so on, and so forth.
The first theme will be... *dramatic drumroll*
Stars! Whether you chose to write about the kind of stars you wish on, or the kind that take the stage, I will be eagerly awaiting your sparkly, shiny, beautiful poems. Have them in by... Saturday, March 18. Two weeks. Sound fair?
I hope to see your poems soon!

Hi! i saw all of the comments like "you can join at any time!" so I thought I'd try it out. I think it sounds better if you read it alound, as its got some kind of vague rhyme and rythym to it. Also, Admins, could you change "a mess" in the first line to "messy"? Thanks!
Done.

Future
Threads.
Weaving a future.
I do this.
Bad descision.
They craft a punishment.
I do that.
Good desicion.
More prizes.
Glimmering with tears, shining with blood.
Punishing sins with prison.
And gifting achievements with glowing riches.
Give me my future.
I'll accept my fate.
Because some only care about today.

*Looks around nervously* Umm, was the judging supposed to have happened?
(March 5, 2018 - 3:50 pm)
Yeah, my bad. . . I'll try to get results up ASAP
(March 5, 2018 - 8:35 pm)
Um.. Are the results happening soon?

Sorry for the delay, y'all:
Honorable Mention: Blue Moon
I really loved the dichotomy that you offered within your poem that contrasted the different ways that the world could look like in the future. I felt that the repetition of the phrase 'bright and shining' at the beginning and end of the poem really cinched it off nicely.
Third Place: Twirlgirl
I also really enjoyed the use of repition throughout your poem. I liked how your poem seemed to have a deeper meaning and also how you portrayed the future throughout your piece.
Second Place: Shy Peacock
This poem was incredibly truthful, which is part of the reason why I enjoyed it so much. Besides that, however, I loved the way you seemed to tell a story, and I particularly liked your last stanza.
And in first place. . .
Leafpool
Leafy, I loved this poem so much, and I loved what you did with the theme. Instead of addressing the future directly, I liked how you instead picked an ambiguous 'someday' to center your poem on. The repetition worked really well throughout your poem as well.
Congratulations to Leafpool, but most of all, congratulations to all of you! Your poems were amazing!

Thank you so much! congrats everyone! especially leafpool!

By the way, this sounds kind of interesting, but can someone please do the theme school? I think I have a poem I'd like to try to enter.
Also, totally weird sounding, but who on here actually likes school? Sorry if I sound like a total geek!
(March 6, 2018 - 9:18 pm)
I do! I'm a nerd and proud!

I like school! We do lots of hands on things though and everyone is crazy and hanging out and stuff.
So it’s not like I like doing worksheets.
I think the theme of change would also be interesting (I wrote a poem that could fit that XD) But it’s Leafpool’s descision. Maybe she’ll pick hands. Color. Plants. Life. Death. Peanut butter.
Either way, congrats Leafy!!

I also love school! It's not weird at all!

Yayy! Second place! I thought I'd be lucky to get an honorable mention! Congrats to everyone! @September, which part did you mean by "my last stanza"? I didn't really intetionally divide it up into stanzas... I don't think... *rushes off to check* Anyway, it depnds on what aspect of school you're talking about, for if I like it. Art, yes. Seeing friends every day, yes. Hard tests and memorizing facts, no. Cliques, no. Etc. I can't wait for the next theme. I thing magic would make a good one, or maybe music.

" One day we will all
Grow old and grow wise
Each choice is its own past
Its own legacy
As we live on, choose on
Until every question is asked,
Every caged bird is free
Then we will pass on
But still live in memory. "

Oh. Thank you!

*Double take*
*Splutters, gasping*
*Coughs*
Ahem. Why...thank you! *Coughs again, hoarsely* Thank you! I'll give the next theme some consideration today, and probably I'll post it tomorrow.
*Stumbles off dazedly*
