I have a clarinet audition tomorrow! I'm nervous . . . XD I practiced for three hours today because I was so worried. Any tips?
You guys are the best. Have any of you done auditions before? How did they go? I've only done an audition once before, for a select band, and I passed but I actually screwed up, so I wasn't very high. The band I'm aiming for right now is really prestigous, so I'm crossing my fingers!
*Crosses fingers* Y'all know me. I'm Slytherin! I really care about this stuff. And if I get into this band, it could pave my way into an Ivy League, which is one of my big goals. But seriously, the Chatterbox churns out such smart people, I think a lot of you could go to an Ivy League. How cool would it be if I met one of you at Harvard?
And people on Chatterbox are so encouraging! Even dead CBers like me can come on whenever we need support. That's why this website changed my life more than any other. I might even come back this summer!
You CBers are amazing, wish me luck!

I've never auditioned for anything before, but if there is one person who is to shine in an audition, it's you. Like you said, you're Slytherin, you're ambitious, smart, and outgoing. You can make anything happen. So just take a deep breath, and knock those judges out.
And about the Ivy League, I could go to one if I really wanted, but I don't think that is necessary for the path that I have chosen. You, on the other hand, are a prime student for an Ivy League school. You'll thrive. It would be cool if we actually ended up meeting each other, though! Like I said, you're ambitious. You will go far in life. :D
So, I guess the one thing I can say is good luck. I don't think you need advice, you have all the qualities. You'll thrive in whatever environment or situation you are put in. Regardless, I cannot give advice since I've never done audition.
So, here you are, good luck! You can achieve anything you set your mind to. Again, good luck!

It's REALLY Hard to get into the Ivy League. You need to be smart and a little lucky too, as well as do something unique, like write a book or do something for the community. It's hard, but I bet you can do it!
Myself, I would like to go to MIT, but that's really hard too. If not MIT, then Berkerly.

First of all: you play clarinet?!?!? That's so cool! I play clarinet too! #Clarinetistsrule
Second of all: I'm sure you'll do great Mei! I've done a couple clarinet auditions before, and they were really fun. Just remember to breathe and relax before you play; and have fun! Even if you don't get in, you'll still remember that you had fun. You've probably practiced hard; so I'm sure you'll do great Mei. Keep being that amazing ambitious Slytherin you are!

YES! CLARINETISTS UNITE!
@Mei, how did you do? Tell me about it! I've never been in an audition, but my friends want me to audition for Youth Symphony with them! They are violinists, though. (No one on the Chatterbox, unfortunately.)

PS Starfire Scales says "hpzm". Hap Zem. I dunno; CAPTCHAs are mysterious creatures.

Goood luck, Mei! We're all crossing our fingers for you! I have had a singing audition once and I had extreme stage fright! But all you have to do is just start, whether the start is good or bad, just start and youll be able to finish the audition. This may be bad advice, but that's what I did. Good luck! You're the best, tell us how you went!

Don't panic (catch the reference, anyone?). Think of it as an informal way for the judges to see a bit of your skill and style. Even if it is actually very fancy and important, don't think about that part. That advice usually works for theater auditions. I'm not the best person to ask, though, because everything I've auditioned for has been community theater where I'd have to be given a part even if I flubbed it up enormously.

Oh, oops, you already had your audition. How'd it go?
(January 28, 2017 - 7:33 pm)
@Applejaguar, would that be from Toy Story? "This is not the time to panic." "This is the perfect time to panic!" XD
@Mei, I know your audition has already happened, but I hope it went well!

P.S. Firefox says ifig. I figure? You figure what, Firefox?

I'm so happy right now! Not only did I get in, but I got second chair of the second row. You may not think that's a lot, but I'm twelve and was competing against ninth graders. It means so much to me! The audition was amazing, too. I met some awesome people, the building was beautiful, and playing in front of a judge was so fun!
I also beat my rival, who got the cutoff score. He's really good, so beating him means so much to me . . . He's super talented, and I'm not. I just really wanted to beat him and spent a lot more time on it, which was totally worth it! I'm so excited!
You can achieve anything if you work hard enough.

Congradulations, Mei! I admire how you devoted yourself to a skill and then excelled at it through hard work.
@Poetic Panda I guess that works too, but I was thinking of the Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy, where the HHGTtG itself has "Don't Panic" written on it in large friendly letters.
Unsolveablez says amen, his first word. I don't know if anything I said constitutes an "amen," but thanks.
