Calling all ukulele
Calling all ukulele players!!
Does anyone else here play the ukulele? I've started playing, and i love it.
If anyone else here plays the uke, tell me about it! What kind of uke do you play, what's your favorite song to play on it, etc.
If anyone is interested, I have a tenor uke, (though i'm curious about the baritone- does anyone here have one of those?), and my favorite song to play is Fix You by COldplay. I really enjoy playing with a capo and the different sounds it makes, and Fix You is in E flat, so I have to have a capo to play it.

Oh my gosh, my sister is obsessed with the ukelele! I'm gonna go get her.
Lavender:I looooooooooooove the ukelele!becaus of twenty one pilots.I want a ukelele for my birthday
(It's me again) Yep. Our cousin recently bought a ukelele, L kind of had a freakout. I like how it sounds, but I don't think I could play it. It's a really cool instrument!

My mom plays ukelele! I mean, she just got it for Christmas and is learning how to play. And my science teacher plays really well on a ukelele he keeps hung in the classroom. As for me, I love the sound but don't play. Right now I'm teaching myself how to play the acoustic guitar. But it does sound like an awesome instrument!

Ashlee, what is playing the guitar like? I've been wanting to learn to play it myself but I'm a bit scared of the steel strings lol.

Ah, well... it depends. I sometimes have a problem with feeling my fingers, so the strings don't bug me. For most people, they might be sore for a few days, but that's about it. The most important thing is pressure, don't press too hard because you'll be causing yourself unnecessary pain. But too light and it won't sound correct. It'll take some time to learn the right pressure, and you will be without troubles. I really do recommend playing, guitar is really fun! If you do decide to play, learn good habits early on, it's a pain to relearn something the correct way later. Especially with finger positions and posture.

I play many types of ukulele! I play soprano, tenor, and concert really well (I have been playing for 3 years now) and I also play baritone pretty well. Of course the first three are exactly the same fingerings but a smidge different sizes, but whatever. It sounds cool to say you can play 3 types of ukulele. :) Baritone is super cool. I love its low sound. I own a tenor. It's this super pretty light honey wood with cool carvings. My favorite song is... hmm, there's so many! I really like Melikalikimaka, though, and I Wanna Go Back To My Little Grass Shack. Those two are really cool Hawaiian tunes, and are challenging but fun. I play with my school's choir, and every year we bring joy to the residents of a retirement home and play for them. Now they have started their own uke group, and we played a duet! I wish you luck with your ukulele! It's hard at first, and your fingers hurt, but it is SO WORTH IT. Plus, you get used to it, and my fingers no longer hurt! So don't give up, and keep playing and bringing joy to all!
