Chatterbox: Pudding's Place
Let's talk about
Let's talk about alternative!
Okay, so I decided it was time for a lesser-known/alternative/indie/whatever you want to call it music thread, a place where we can talk about bands like Fall Out Boy and singers like Halsey. You can talk about all of this here, just keep it appropriate.
First off- Melanie Martinez
I discovered her yesterday, but since then I have been listening to Cry Baby non-stop. I have no words. I love how all the songs on Cry Baby are titled something that's related to childhood, but actually mean something that's kind of dark and talk about real problems with metaphors. If you haven't ever listened to her, LISTEN TO HER NOW!
Second- Halsey
Listening to Halsey's music makes me feel like I can do anything. I love her sound. Some songs I'd recommend if you've never listened to her are Empty Gold, Roman Holiday, Castle, and Hold Me Down. And if you're more into pop, listen to Closer or New Americana! She's good for everyone, and if you like that electronic stuff I recommend the Colors remix by Audien.
Third- Fall Out Boy
This band will always have a special place in my heart, because it's what got me into this type of music. Like Halsey, they have something for everyone- I like their older albums such as like Folie a Deux more, but Save Rock and Roll and American Beauty/American Psycho are more pop-sounding and still great. If you've never listened to them, I recommend the songs Death Valley; 20 Dollar Nosebleed; Calm Before the Storm; "The Take Over, The Breaks Over"; The Kids Aren't Alright, and Save Rock and Roll.
Fourth- Twenty One Pilots
Yes, this band plays the ukelele in half of their songs. But hardcore ukelele! (wow, those are sentences I'd never thought I'd say) Twenty One Pilots is great because like a lot of bands I like, they infuse a lot of different genres into their music. If you listen to Vessel (an album), it's literally changes from happy acoustic ukelele to hardcore techno stuff in two seconds. And that happens in their other albums, too. So, I recommend them for sure, because not matter what your taste in music is, you can find something by them that you like.
Also they just release this song that is like, a remake of a MCR song called Cancer. And it's so good! Listen to it!
Fifth- Sia
Okay, so maybe she's not alternative, I don't know. But her voice is absolutely amazing! If you listen to the radio at all, you've probably heard either Chandelier; The Greatest; or Cheap Thrills. She has a ton of other great songs, ton! Try her out, her music is awesome.
There are some other Alt singers like Regina Spektor, Lorde, and Lana Del Ray that I like a handful of songs from, and a few bands like MCR and Coldplay that I like but don't listen to on a regular basis. I've never really given Paramore, All Time Low, or P!AtD a chance. So, yeah. If you have any songs or bands you like I should listen to, I'm totally open for suggestions! Thanks for reading.

Okay. So my friend is making a KinzTube (video with WebKinz) series, and Hasley's Hold Me Down is the theme! I love it so much! I will hum it randomly.
So. Yeah.
