Do you know about the Æ rule? No Æs unless the thread maker says so. I didn't say that Æs are allowed, therefore they aren't on this thread.

I didn't make the rule, I just follow it.

 

Actually, the Admins set the rule because AEs were popping into too many threads with random crazy text that had nothing to do with the content of the threads, interrupting very good stories and discussions.

Buttress: 1: A projecting support of stone or brick built against a wall.

2: A source of defense or support. 

This really isn't such an obscure word, but it's supremely useful. It may be employed as a noun or a verb, and might refer to either a support in a fortress or a supportive and strengthening person.
