ART POSTING

(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)

Art stuff thread starting...NOW!  If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff!  I would love to see other people's art so post away!  They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff.  You can use any media, including digital, like I do!  Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other.  Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN!  If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing.  Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from.  You don't have to be polished with your art.  I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon.  I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why.  I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that.  If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.

Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

Hey guys! I just finished a sculpture for my exhibition coming up in the spring. I took casts of different peoples' hands using plaster gauze. Once the casts of the hands had dried, I glued on a ton of different pictures using an acryllic seal. Each hand has a combination of pictures that take a different position on African American rights (blue lives matter, all lives matter, black lives matter, etc.). Each of these hands are pulling at fabric that is made of spandex, and that is blue on one side and black on the other. These hands aare mounted on oak wood that is painted white, to support the piece. As a whole, the sculpture is supposed to represent how different interest groups/factions pull at a policy matter in government, creating the pluralistic model that James Madison described in Federalist Paper No. 10.

Wow, April, that is so cool! I love how the hands represent different things and how realistic they are and--well--all of it!

Here's the blue side. I made one side blue and one side black to represent the different perspectives

@SopranaTwo it's an exhibition for me. I spend two years making different artwork that shows some kind of controversy in it. Then I display it at my exhbition after two years.

That's amazing! Although, what does "blue lives matter" mean? Are there people with naturally blue skin? What shade? Are they magic?

"Blue lives" refer to the lives of police officers. I think that all lives matter, not just the lives of black people or of police officers, and that one's life can matter without the other one not mattering, but I don't really want to start a debate. It would be so cool if there were magic people with blue skin, though.

Actually, I learned in biology that some Amish people have blue skin! I'm pretty sure it isn't magic, though, just genetics.
