ART POSTING
(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)
Art stuff thread starting...NOW! If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff! I would love to see other people's art so post away! They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff. You can use any media, including digital, like I do! Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other. Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN! If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing. Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from. You don't have to be polished with your art. I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon. I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why. I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that. If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.
Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

Thank you! I have ended up adding the dress, which I'll post soonish. The spots came from a dream I had years ago, where I was painting three blue dots on polar bear eggs so they wouldn't explode prematurely... but that's a story for another time.

You're welcome! Tell me this dream sometime soon, I want to hear it.

@Leeli, WOW those sticky-note drawings are GOOD.
I drew myself. The hair isn't quite as red as it is in the picture I took....

Lovely! Hair in curls loose enough to be called waves, a very confusing type. I love it.

I drew this recently, she's a Kyngdom charrie, and I wanted to share it with all of you because I just love that one dress with the ivy so much.

Viola, I really love your style of drawing. It's so graceful and emotional, and I feel as though I can understand exactly what effect you wanted as you drew it. I can almost see her feelings in the one where she's sitting down, and her body language is perfect in all of them. The the colors in her hair are so well done, too! Wow, that is beautiful.

I completely agree, Cockleburr! I-wow-I really wish I could draw like that.

Thank you two so much! Do you want to know my secret?
*whispers* Practice. Years of it. And a fashion drawing book, some manga ones, a good art teacher, and copying lots of comics and animated things and life.
Mexi says mica! I forget how many real words she's said, so let's say x+3.

Viola....I...You...OH MY GOODNESS! That is AMAZING!!!! I LOVE her!!!
(August 18, 2017 - 3:49 pm)
Thank you! I do, too.

I already said this on the Kyngdom art thread, but I love. That. So. Much. It's so beautiful! And I LOVE the dress with the ivy! You should start a picturing thread or something!
@Cockleburr, Wow! That's really good! I think the legs are especially amazing since I can't draw good legs...And I agree with Kate, I think you are improving!
@Leafpool, Thanks so much! I like your drawing!

Thank you! I kind of do picturings already, now that I think about it; picturings of Kyngdom charries.

Oh, and in response to your earlier question, I just kind of have a stack of Post-its sitting on a bookshelf. I have a drawer I put my stacks of used Post-its in, so that's where they're headed.
(August 19, 2017 - 8:04 pm)
Wow! How do you do that? This is amazing! The hair and the arms, and the dresses as well as the stone wall!

Two things: Skillz gained from tons of practice, and references. I used dozens of references, mostly for the ivy leaves, but also for the chains, two or three of the gowns, the boots, the trees, the rosebush, the wall, even her hair color. Oddly, I didn't use any for the ivy dress apart from for the leaves. Oh, and a secret hidden in plain sight: The rest of her charrie sheet.
I got a sense of her from it, as a whole person and not just an image. Without that, this picture would be very different. Her expression and posture would speak of graceful arrogance, and they would be very static; no running, climbing or sitting. There would also be far fewer views and no theme of chains. The reason she has all of these things is because I read her character sheet. It said she acted stuck-up, but was actually "a tomboy feeling out of place in fancy dresses", that she wanted to be free and run and play, but was being forced into the role of a lady. It said she had made escape attempts. Escape attempts! You can see I put that in. And the chains and the hearts, the hearts representing her the way she wants to be and the chains because she is trapped, chained, not literally but definitely figuratively. The one of her sitting, looking sad and her expression in the big front view on the left are because of that. The little one of her pointing is because of the front she puts up. The one with the ivy dress is her being who she's supposed to be with just a touch of who she wants to be. I hid a heart in the leaves, did anyone catch that? I hid two more hearts, too.
Sorry for the rant, I just like the explaining, and I had to get it out.
