ART POSTING

(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)

Art stuff thread starting...NOW!  If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff!  I would love to see other people's art so post away!  They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff.  You can use any media, including digital, like I do!  Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other.  Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN!  If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing.  Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from.  You don't have to be polished with your art.  I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon.  I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why.  I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that.  If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.

Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

@Scylla

Scylla, that's amazing. Your digital art is incredible. Sometimes, your work is just beyond words....

I was experimenting with Chinese calligraphy last week. Of course, I drew it in the border of my lesson schedule....

Holy Hephaestus, this thread has 1,600 posts now! I looked through all the pages I've missed out on, all of your art looks so good! (I especially like The Riddler's hand doodles. I do that all the time!)

So, even though I'm technically not supposed to be here yet, I have a drawing I wanted to share. I've been drawing SO MUCH the past 6 weeks, so expect a lot of posts :)

This one's my interpretation of Persephone. I'm in the with the idea of her being a warrior, I guess?, leading an army of Venus Flytraps and bunny rabbits through Greece, slaying monsters in a pink sundress. Somebody write a story about warrior Persephone!

Also, she's holding a torch because that is one of her symbols.

Ooh, I love it! Especially the folds of her dress, the torch flame, the hair, her arms, the vines wrapped around her legs...basically everything.

IKR!? I love the way the dress ripples, the expression on her face, ugh, it's overall amazing. XD

Cool!

I like how you showed her like a strong warrior....often Persephone is depicted as weak or gentle/naive, but I like your take on her. Nice job with the wind!

Bluebird -- THAT"S AMAZING!!! So glad to have you back! Happy Easter!! I'm Catholic also ( I don't know if you already knew that), so I understand the whole Lent thing. I totally broke mine last night also. It was my brother's birthday, if that's any justification ;)

But seriously, you captured Persephone perfectly! I was just reading this book called "The Gallery" and Persephone (as well as the pomegranate, which is another one of her symbols) was totally a theme in the book! (You should really read it by the way; it's set in the Roaring Twenties and is really good). Your drawing really captures her essence and conveys a feeling of strength, defiance, and... wildness, I'd say.  Great job! I love the idea of her as a warrior.

Thank you, Leafpool, Esquire, Owlgirl, and Caroline! Caroline, I think I'm going to have to read The Gallery, who is it written by? Also, I had no idea you were Catholic, Happy Easter to you, too!

Amazing drawing, Bluebird! Nations of the world, beware. Surrender tomorrow, or be overrun by an army of bunnies!
