I have an audition on Thursday for a summer program. I'm really excited for it, because I'm going to have do some improv and learn some dance steps, but I am also superduper nervous. I know I probably won't get in because:

a) The age range is 12-16, and I'm right on the edge. They say they rarely accept 12-year-olds.

b) There are only twelve spots in the program.

c) Returning people have priority, so that means that I'm auditioning for maybe 3 spots.

But, I know I have a good chance of getting in because:

a) I have been RECOMMENDED. That's right. Somebody recommended me! (Not to sound bratty or anything Embarassed)

b) My monologue is awesome!

I've basically been going on and off about it for a few weeks. Sometimes I'm super excited about, sometimes I'm super depressed.

I'm doing a piece from the book The Day The Crayons Quit, as the program tours around doing shows for little kids. They asked for something from a children's book, poem, or play.

I bet you'll do better than the sixteen year olds. Honestly! So have faith in yourself, and if you ever get lost imagine all those great books you read where people find themselves and audition from your heart. If you haven't read any books like that then I don't think I can help you. Anyway, as I always seem to say, good luck!
