I recently got an email from my voice teacher asking me if I would be interested in playing the part of Amahl in the opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors".  I am auditioning for the part in about  2 weeks and I'm so nervous!!!  I've never auditioned for anything before and I'm not quite sure what to do.  does anyone have any tips?

If they don't let you use a microphone, talk/sing extra loud!!! When you think you're talking too loud, talk louder!

Wow! That sounds really exciting. What's the plot about? I've never been in an opera, but I do act, so my advice about the audition is try your best, and you'll most likely get the part!

It's a Christmas story.  It's about a crippled boy who is healed through a miracle.  I would play the crippled boy.  Actually, that's a great honor, because that part is usually played by a much older girl.  It's all singing, hardly any talking, and it's got great music.

My audition is Tuesday September 2nd!!!  Wish me luck!!!!

I'm singing "Pur dicesti o bocca bella" by Antonio Lotti (it's from an Italian opera) and one of the arias from "Amahl".  I have absolutely NO idea what it's going to be like...

Wow. My Mom takes voice lessons and that was one of her recital songs. You must be really good if you're singing that! =D
