Hamilton!! The soundtrack

Hamilton!! The soundtrack was released yesterday, and I've been listening to it non-stop, it's such an advancement in the forms of musical theater and three of the songs basically made me cry. is everyone else super excited about it? Because I feel like it's telling history and it's making history. It's a game-changer, it's incredible, the lyrics are so clever and the music is so perfect and this is the first time I've been excited about something related to hip-hop or American history...and I haven't even seen it live.

I've never been more upset to live far away from New York. This and Fun Home are absolutely dominating my mind, for the first time in six months I'm wishing to see something more than I wish to see Les Mis (which I also hope to see of course! Even though it's my favorite book ever and I've whined about aspects of the musical before, I'm still captivated by the musical, and the finale gets me every time).

Are there any musicals currently running that you're completely losing your head over? Anything in general that you desperately want to see? Has anyone else been crying about the Founding Fathers all week?

So uh, yeah, this is me temporarily sneaking back in.

I'm usually not a musical person, but Hamilton is an amazing idea! (I haven't seen it yet, but the soundtrack... !!!) It's amazing!!!

And nice to see you! :-)

Oh no, I haven't seen any of it either, but I have been listening to the soundtrack for the entire last week. It really is so incredibly great - I adore how all of the main characters even have specific ways their names are said, and the contrasting music styles, and. wow. I'm so.
