All County! So

All County! So
All County! So I know I haven't been on here much lately, and it's because I've been drawing a ton lately and doing winter track- but also to prepare for this concert for All County, the best instruments in my county. I qualified this year and it was a crazy day and a half for me! Practicing my flute for hours on end, though with breaks, was exhausting. But I'm glad I did! I'm going to try to get in next year in 9th grade.
So, in case you guys were wondering what pieces I did, I did Semper Melior by John Fannin, Rain by Brian Balmages, American Barndance by Richard Saucedo, and Prestissimo (my favorite) by Karl L. King. The last two you may have heard of by tune since American Barndance was in old Western films and Prestissimo is a circus-like song from the 30s.
I'll catch you guys up on what else I've been doing like writing and such later (probably tomorrow). I'm just really tired now. I'm going to go read some of my Doctor Who book or Les Mis or something by the fire. It's been a full day!
(Oh and I love this month's Cricket issue! Loved the part two of The Girl Who Writes The Future! The whole mag really. And also planning on finally sending in a letter sometime soon...)

Congrats, Moss! I have a piano contest where I chose to play the First Arabesque by Claude Debussy. I'm really nervous.

I know how you feel. Last year in fifth grade I did all county. I think our pieces were Gently Touch the Sky, Celtic Air and Dance, Afterburn, and Meadowlands. I am not sure of the composers. It was hard and exciting. I could barely feel my chops when it came time for the actual concert! (I play the trumpet).
