Jon Pertwee's 95th
Jon Pertwee's 95th B-day is today!!!
Yeah, I know. You're wondering who the heck that is.
Jon Pertwee, born July 7, 1919, is the man who played the Third Doctor in the old series of Doctor Who. Prior to the inception of his era as the Doctor the Second had been exiled to Earth by the Time Lords and forced to regenerate before then sent Earthbound in his now disabled TARDIS. Once he had arrived he then began frequent association with UNIT as their scientific advisor. From that point forward the show was broadcast in color and all the adventures were set on our own planet with UNIT and Brigadier Alastair-Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart as recurring plot settings.
Pertwee stayed on until his regeneration to Tom Baker in 1974, after which he reprised the role twice for The Five Doctors and the 30th minisode Dimensions in Time. He died on May 20th, 1996, at the age of 76. The UK broadcast of the Doctor Who TV movie with Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor was dedicated to his memory.
So if his Doctor is your fave, or if you'd like to appreciate his Doctor even if he isn't your fave, or you don't understand a word of this, please, lend your voice.
WHOA!!! Rodney says monk.
We Whovians must take this as an important sign. The Meddling Monk, last seen in The Daleks' Master Plan, may be returning to the show!!!
