Saving Mr. Banks

Saving Mr. Banks

Has anyone seen this movie? It came out a few months ago and when I saw it recently I was surprised at how good it was--maybe one of the best films I ever saw. It's based on the true story of how Walt Disney persuaded P.L. Travers, author of Mary Poppins, to sign over the rights of her book, but it's really more about how Pamela's slightly traumatic childhood influenced the writing of her book. Half is set in real time and the other part is shown in flashback, about the author's relationship with her father, who she loved dearly, and how all of her picky stipulations had some connection to her past. It was really touching at the end and I was crying like crazy. The acting is superb, the story really fascinating, and there were a few funny parts thrown in among the poignant. If you ever are at a loss to see something, totally check it out!

I just saw it last weekend!

Oh, I saw that movie! It was awesome! My mom dragged us to it (sorry, mom)because  it had Emma Thompson, but I really like it! There was great acting, and in some parts it was so funny the audience laughed out loud! But sometimes it was sad... But I still loved it!

I actually had decided not to see this movie because I didn't think it would be that good but I guess I will watch it now. I just have to figure out WHERE to find it...

@ Katie:

My mom NEVER watches modern movies but she was the one who told me about this one, because of Emma Thompson. She's such a good actress.

@ Elizabeth:

You should totally see it! It might be one of my favorite movies ever.

@ Moss:

I know, I was bawling like crazy at the part when Ginty said, "I dropped the pears." I don't know why; I just lost it.
