American Girl Movies!
So, does anyone else here watch the American Girl movies? Or even just read the books? I have seen all the movies, and the next one, Saige Paints the Sky, comes out July 2! Personally, I prefer ones about the historical characters, instead of the girls of the year. I SO wish they had made one about Kirsten! I love Samantha, Kit, but my favorite is Felicity! So, anyone else?

I think my family and I watched Kit's movie a couple of years ago. My sister had all of the Josefina books in one large book and two of the Kaya books, so I have read them. The second Kaya is the most interesting of the bunch, I think.
I know these books are designed for girls, but I think they really aren't that bad for boys either. I mean, for the most part, the books show an overcoming of some kind of problem, and the problems are usually rather exciting. For instance, one of Josefina's friends gets bitten by a rattlesnake, and Josefina's family's sheep drown in a flood, leaving them with less money. In another book, the family thinks an American trader stole their money but Josefina has to find a way to get the money back. Those kinds of circumstances make enjoyable reading for all kinds of people.

I've never seen the movies, but I played a lot with mine when I was younger. Mine was Marisol, girl of the year from 2005 or earlier, I think. One day I got tired of her hair and cut it in the bathroom.
That did not end well.

My cousin has Marisol and I tried to brush her hair and all of the doll's hair was in knots but I got it nice after about 20 or 30 minutes.

@ Ruby: I've read all the Josefina books too. They're really good! And I've read all the Kaya as well.
I currently don't read American Girl as much (mostly cause I can't find them, and I've read most of them), but I really like the Dear Americas. They're sort of like American Girl on a more intense level. I've read a lot of those too.

I love Dear America! Sadly, I haven't found any here in the English bookstores... One of my favorites was about this Irish girl who worked in a factory. It was really great. I also love The Royal Diaries. They're like Dear America but about princesses and stuff.

I like Dear America books too. There are these other one that are basically the same exact thing except that they r called My America. I got into them because there is a 3 book set of the My Americas and the girl's name is Sofia!!!

I've read a bunch of Dear Americas! I like how historical they are and how the books are written for an older level of reader. My favorites are the Voyage on the Great Titanic, A Picture of Freedom and the Hear My Sorrow. I've always wanted to read Mirror, Mirror On the Wall and I Walk in Dread, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

My favorite was the Kit movie which I watched last night. I've read the books too but not in awhile. Chrissa was alright but the other historical ones don't seem that interesting. I cried at Felicity.

I have read a lot of the books, and I also like the historical characters. My favorites are Felicity and Molly. I never saw the movies though.
