Oliver!
I'm part of one of THE BEST THEATRE CAMPS EVER for two weeks (we started last week actually) and this year we're doing Oliver! I'm Mrs. Bumble (one of the orphanage workers and I get to scream a lot :D) and part of the Adult ensemble.
We finished blocking all our scenes today, despite the freakishly cold studio and the freakishly hot outside which result in lots of fevers and colds. We'll be running through the show and also doing transition runs/Italian runs.
Wanna know something awesome? There are three Olivias and there are two Olivers and two Olivias play the two Olivers... and then there's me with the terrible singing voice. :p
Has anyone seen/performed this play? And the movie 1968 version of I'd Do Anything is sooo adorable! Dodger and Oliver are so cute!
I went to a local high school production of it, but I had a really bad seat and could hardly see a thing. I do like the music and the story and I enjoyed the movie many years ago.

I've never done anything big, just the old little thing when i was at school.
I have a friend who just loves Oliver, she's read the book more then once and the movie is scratched from the amound of times she's played it.

Am I obsessed or... is The Book of Mormon one of the best things ever? Beside Les Mis and McDonald's french fries and Tim Horton's frozen lemonades*. :D (I love Oliver! as well but from what I've seen/heard of tBoM at the Tony Awards (via YouTube) it's so much funnier.)
*Yes, it actually gets warm enough here for frozen drinks. :p

Sorry, I haven't seen it. I've read something that had the story in it. I'm not sure if it was an abridged version or a different play version, since I don't remember it much.
I'm also part of a theater camp, but ours runs longer. We only have a few hours a week, though. We're putting on a Broadway revue. I got the negative, sarcastic character. Some of my lines are funny, and lately I've been getting comedic characters, so I can see why.

I am doing a "Shakespeare Summer Intensive" for two weeks. It's intense. We're doing As You Like It and the performance is next weekend. I'm playing Touchstone. It's fun, because Touchstone has a long line about pancakes and mustard.

We had the dress rehearsal and then the actual show today. And I had to pile on the makeup. As in tacky makeup meaning blue eyeshadow, black eyeliner, and bright red lipstick that does nothing for my skin tone. D: But it was super fun and there weren't any mistakes I noticed during the actual show. At dress some people missed cues or sped up during the songs but that's it.
And there might be an older camp and the instructors said they'll do West Side Story or Les Mis!!!! And I love Les Mis!

I saw this and if someone thinks I would go on and not commetn, you're crazy.
I love Oliver. I've never actually seen the musical (I mean to) or read the orginal book (Also mean to do that, I've only read a silly edited version) but I've read the graphic novel (Yes, Papercutz realsed an Oliver Twist graphic novel) and I've seen the 1968 version. And I know all of the songs.
We were studing musicals in music class, and we studied ovliver and it was AWESOME! My favorite songs are... well... all of them. As much as I would love to see Oliver preformed live it would be even awesomer to be in it. Also, I agree with the 1968 version of I'd do anything.
