In the spirit
In the spirit of my "books that made you cry" thread on BAB, here is a thread to discuss music that did the same. Or close. What is everybuggy's favorite sad music? Is it the lyrics or the tune that makes it sad? Can a song be sad from just the tune, really?
Also, do you guys think there is such a thing as scary music? If so, what? (I'll give my own opinion on this later.)
Sad songs: Danny Boy, Shenandoah, Bring Him Home
Sad music: Theme from Schindler's List
I'm sure I have more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Some of my favorite music is sad music. For example: Molly Ban (Allison Krause) and Concrete Angel (Martina McBride)
Oh, you just made me remember Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy. And Where Have All the Flowers Gone.

The A Team by Ed Sheeran
Oh, at my semi everyone left all bummed out because the last song they played was that Graduation song by Vitamin C. I dare you to listen to that song while your graduating and not cry. I can't listen to Pomp and Circumstance for the same reason. (leaving all those memories)
The Best Day by Taylor Swift
Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift feat. The Civil Wars. (ees so preeeetttty)
Any of One Direction's slow songs, especially More Than This and I Wish *coughcoughbecauseicanrelatecoughcough*.
The theme from Up because it stinkin' reminds me of that one scene.

There is a christain song that i can't remebmber the name of but its so sad but beautiful about Jesus it goes something like this. Only the chorus or some of it;
He lived to died,
rejected and alone...
Like a rose,
trample on the ground.
He took fall,
In thought of me...
Above all.
Here come the tears... Ithink it's called 'Above all' and it a lovely song

Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles. It reminds me of when my cat died. Although it's a really good song, just right after my cat's death, I could not listen to it.

That is, like, my favorite Beatles song. Besides We Can Work It Out... And Penny Lane... And I Want To Hold Your Hand... And... I'm just going to stop talking now.

Ohohohoh I love I Wish by 1D. (One Direction for those who are unfamiliar with the lingo) It is A, the only song of their that doesn't stick in my head and B, ever so preeety. I don't think any song has ever made me cry, although there have been songs that make me feel like my heart is breaking. (Cliche but true.) At this present moment, I can't think of them though...

I never cry when listening to songs but I almost did when I was listen to The A-Team by Ed Sheeran. The music video is so sad and the song is beautiful and sad and the whole thing together is so sad. :D

One song that made me cry or at least sad was Our Town from Cars. It talks about how the Radiator Springs was before it wasn't popular.

In the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie, they played a certain song at the end of the Yule Ball called... 'Magic Works'? Anyway, I didn't cry over it but it did make me feel sad.

Uuuum yes. There is a such thing as scary music. Um emo music is scary..... no ofense to those emo-music lovers, but it's kinda scary to me.. I heard like 2 songs n I was like "Oh heck no."

XD I was thinking of a song called "Ramalama," not sure who it's by but it freaked me out.

"The Call" by Regina Spektor...not so much because of the song itself, but more a combination of the song and the setting it plays in. It is the song for the credits in the Prince Caspian movie. Also "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables. For sad music (no lyrics), a lot of the cello music by Zoe Keating makes for very deep listening.
