I tried to turn into a tree to grab the stones and dig in, but there was to much going on. I saw Rosie stand up, with a shadow of a tree that she'd soon turn into hovering around her, as she yelled something before I went under.
I didn't understand why I couldn't become a tree, it felt too hard...why? I was a tree, it should be easy to do. Why?
I bumped into a rock and felt something snap. My arm, I think...
I stopped stuggling and let the river take me where it wanted me to go: left and right, under a tree that was leaning right over to the, over a rock, into a rock, through reeds... My lungs screamed for air. I felt water logged...

Sorry I haven't posted lately. Super busy.
Rosie~
"Gum!" I yelled. "Grab on!" She blubbed and went right under. "Great." I thought venomousley. "She can't swim." I ran up the river bank and yelled at the top of my lugs in hope of someone hearing us.

Aspen-
"Gum! Where did you go!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Suddenly I remembered something.
"Rosie! Get Allen and Dustin! No dryad can swim!"
"Why me? "
"Because you know them. Hurry!"

I began to not feel anything, not even when I was rammed aganist another rock, everything was dark and I could find air... My only thought was...why?

Blackbeard-
Blackbeard scowled in the direction of Dustin and Allen. They had been lollygagging all day, hadn't even cut down one tree. He was about to storm over to them when an insufferable girl rushed up to them and began talking to them. They were about to drop their axes and run into the forest until Blackbeard roared, "Not so fast! Where do you think you're going?'
"We quit." The girl was shaking her head at them but they went on. "There are people-trees in the forest, and we're hurting them. Call off your mission, sir. Please."
"No. No one is going to stop me from cutting down these trees, because you thought you saw people. Now get out of here!'"
Without another word they raced into the forest.

Allan~
"What's going on Rosie?" I said as Dustin and I raced through the woods.
"Gum's drowning! I need you two to get her out! I can't swim!" She looked completely panic-stricken. "Hurry!"
We finally reached the bank. The girl Aspen was deathly pale. "Thank gosh you'r here!" he yelled. "Help her!" Gum was floating lifelessly, facedown. I tore into the icy water and swam with all my might. Good thing my dad had taught me to swim before he died. I grabbed Gum's waist and swiftly dragged her to shore. Rosie knelt down and mumbled something under her breath. She immediatley coughed and gasped for breath. "Thank gosh!" Aspen said, pushing a strand of Gum's hair from her face. "You're alive!" Gum nodded and immediatley blacked out again.
"Aspen, take her to Cedar. She'll be fine," Rosie said, then turned to me. "Thank you so much, Allan. If you hadn't got her..."
"Well... It was nothing," I said, blushing. She gave another one of her amazing smiles and kissed me on the cheek. Dustin snorted and tried not to grin. "All right, now that Gum's all right, we need to figure out how to stop the crew. And soon."

I woke
with a start, thank shook my whole body, drawing a deep breath I looked around.
I was at the park. I sat up, feeling like I’d been washed down a waterfall and
then remembered. But how had I got out, I jumped to my feet and was about to
run outside when Cedar appeared and stopped me. “Slow down, you’ve had quiet an
ordeal.”
“How I get
out of the river?”
“One of
the human boys came and fished you out. Now hold still.”
I sat the
numb, while he fix me up and once he’d given me the okay and warnings to be
very careful, I scooted out and to find Rosie and Aspen.

I walk around the park, checking up on everyone, and they all seem to be alright. Or, as alright as they can be. I look around and see one of the human boys, the one I threatened earlier, sitting on a stump. I walk up to him. "I'm sorry, about earlier. You know," "Yeah, yeah, it's alright. I mean, it is pretty much our fault." He looks down at his feet. "Why? Why did you save them? I mean, what good will it do for you, get you fired?" He sighed and paused for a second. "I saved them because I believe that what we're doing is wrong." I didn't say anything. I mean, I've met humans before, and they've honestly didn't know I was a dryad, but they all seemed perfectly fine with cutting a few trees down, compltely unaware of the consequences. "Stand up, Dustin." He looked up at me but did as I said. "You see that stump that you're sitting on? It belonged to a tree so old that even I didn't know it. We sometimes call it the Grandfather Tree, becuase we have all descended from it. But, a couple centuries ago, people just like you came and cut him down, cut most of this entire forest down. That gave them room to build the city that you live in, go to school, work, what have you, but there used to be hundreds of miles of trees there. Just remember where your supplies come from. That ax, in your belt?" He pulls it out of his belt loop and shows it to me, and I take it. "Oak, fifty years old. That is what your ax is made up of. Just remember, alright?" I walk back to camp.

Rosie~
I looked nervously around our tiny little group. Everyone had got here, wounded or not, and they were expecting something good.
"All right everyone." Poplar said. "We've got to make a plan to stop these people. Fast. Luckily, Alan and Dustin have agreed to help us. They're our main weapon, since they're human and can get in contact with the others better than we can." Everyone nodded. "So what do we do?" Willow asked. "It's not like we can go in there and nicely ask them to please stop cutting down our trees."
"We could go to war with them." Gum said. "Unleash our powers, make them back off." There were a few murmurs of agreement. "I don't know." Cedar said. "I'd rather not go to war with these people. They don't understand what they're doing."
"Then make them understand!" Aspen said angrily. "We can't just sit around here!"
"Is there any other way to do this without fighting?" River asked.
You guys decide whether they go to war or not. I'm too lazy and tired to.

//Dustin//
Alan and I walk around the park, looking at all the dryads. They're strapping bark around their chests, like armor or something. Alan and I overheard their meeting yesterday, and they said something about going into war with the workers. "Do you think they're seriously going to fight them?" he asked once we saw some dryads performing nature magic strong enough to knock out a squirrel for a good hour and a half. "I dunno, they seem pretty serious about this." "Well, I think that we should talk to them first. I mean, the humans." "Alan, for once, you actually have a good idea." He punches me but we head off to the base site. "Who do we tell, though?" "Well, I have an idea." I walk towards a small scrawny boy, playing around with some figurines and some weird cards. "Hey, Marvin." "Hmm?" He looks up at me, shoving his too big glasses up his nose. "You believe in all this, right?" Alan gestures to his set of figurines, and Marvin nods eagerly. "Yes, yes I do! Mother just recently obtained a set from Norway, which means that--" "Listen, we don't care." He shrinks down, dejected. "But, we know that these"--I pick up a figurine of a half tree/half girl--"are real. And we know where they are. But right now, if we continue with our project, they'll all die." "No more?" "No more. So, do you believe us?" "Yes, yes I do!" "Good. Now, come with us to tell boss."
"What?!" Blackbeard roared, his beard twitching as he loomed over us angrily. "I think we should cancel the project. I swear, there are people in there! Not people, I mean, but they're--" "How can there be people not people in there?! Your head is full of termites! Ha ha ha ho hee! Now, listen here, you boys." He grabs us by our necks and pulls us closer to his face. "You interrupt me one more time, and you're fired! And if you think that I'll stop just because some little eenie weenie boys are seeing people, you're out of your minds!" He slaps on the back of our heads and turns us around. "I best not see you again!" Well, I guess we're not using a diplomatic approach.
