The wind wails.
The wind wails.
I feel like wailing too. I have to run... like a spooked animal.
But there's no way out.
I can barely pace around the kennel, its so small. I look around, but my piercing blue eyes see no escape. Suddenly a scientist walks in front of the kennel. "Hello." I recognize him as the scientist from earlier, the one who kept eyeballing my locket. "So, Icicle," he began. "We at the B.I.G here are so sorry for your accomodations. We would like to apologize again for not making you feel like our welcomed guest. Now, follow me," he said.
I obey. I don't want to know what happens if I don't. He leads me up some stairs, and motions for me to enter a room. I do and he shuts the door. I hear the lock click shut and turn around to face my new prison.
I almost sob. It's beautiful, with expensive rugs and furniture, and what I think is called a 'kitchen' with strange machines in it and with plates and forks and spoons. I stroke the velvet on the chair. I don't deserve this treatment. Just because I'm human. My animal friends would be being tortured in a kennel... I find my bed and fling myself into it.
I wake up hearing footsteps in my room. Room...Do I really feel right calling it that? No. It is and will always be my prison. Anyways, I see a wolf walking around in my room. An owl is flying by him/her side. I understand a good deal of wolf and barely enough Owl to tell what they are saying. The wolf is speaking, and his/her voice sounds girlish. "I'm not sure that we're in the right place," she's saying. "But I smell something human--and it has a bit of the scent of the forest on it." The Owl begins to speak. "Let's just find the girl and get out of here....I feel wrong, saving a human," the Owl says. "So do I," the wolf replies.
I realize that they're talking about ME! I get off the bed. "I'm here," I say softly. They both whirl to face me. They seem ready to fight, and fear runs through my body. "Are you Icicle Soul?" the wolf asks. I nod and find in my clumbsily sewn-on pocket a leaf with the pawprint of a wolf on it. I show it to her to prove that I'm safe. The wolf relaxes, but only a little. "I'm Storm Windwhisperer. This is Moonshadow. We're here to save you," the Owl says. I almost cry again, in joy, "But why me?" I ask. "I know some of your wolf pup friends," Moonshadow says. "And you are a known member of Captn'O," Storm Windwhisperer adds. I smile. "Then let's go," I say.
I apologize for character controlling.
I read Storm and Moonshadow's posts a lot and love their characters. (I mean Moonshadow the wolf, not owl. But I love your posts too, owl Moonshadow!) I also believe that using real charries makes the story seem more real. Excuses aside, I am EXTREMELY sorry if anyone is hurt or insulted because I used their charrie or things that their charrie said. Please tell me if you are and I won't use your charrie in the future! (I don't plan to use other charries a lot anyways)
