I can't escape. 

At least, that's what I tell myself. I shake the bars of the kennel angrily. I stop as I hear two B.I.G scientists talking. "She's human. We'll have to make a proper place feel guilty about this," one said. "So do I. But she's practically an animal..." I flushed. I wanted to break through these bars..I wish I could...

A man came up to my cage holding an electronic box, with some wire attached to it, and attached to the wire was a suction cup. "So, you can talk to animals," he said in a casual voice. "Forget it-t. You're not g-going to get any informat-tion out-t of me," I said, attempting to look brave. "M hm," he said. His eyes flicked around me, making a quick assessment. Was it just my imagination or did his eyes widen when he saw the locket? Suddenly he seemed nervous.

"So, you lived with the animals, mm?" I tried to hold myself together. "That's not knowledge for you," I began to say. "Ah. At least tell me your name." I considered it then decided to be truthful. "Icicle Caller," I said. At least my name made me feel important. It was something to hold on to. A true animal name. I could forget that I was human.

"So, we'll move you to a proper room in a bit. Then we can get you out of this horrible cell," the man said. I spat at him. "No. If m-my fr-riend-ds get a c-cell because they'r-re animals, I don't-t deserve t-to get-t t-treated bet-tter just because I'm-m a human," I said, shaking like a leaf. The man was staring at my locket again... "Very well. However, it is my orders to make sure that you are comfortable here," he said, then walked away.

I think I've seen him somewhere.... long ago, far away.
