"Moonshadow!" I call out the door. "Breakfast is ready!" No answer. "Moonshadow?" I step outside and walk around the hut. There's no sign of him. I look into his room. He isn't there. I look of worry crosses over my face as see what is in his room. Blankets and packs strewn all over the floor, muddy paw prints tracked through the entire room, even on the bed. I spot a crumpled up note in the corner. I pick it up.

The rest was smudged, and looked as if Moonshadow had gone somewhere, and decided to write a note to explain things to me, then changed his mind. "Oh, No! Why, Moonshadow?" I say to myself. There's only one thing to do. I'm not staying here by myself, and I can't try and find Moonshadow, even though I have a pretty good idea where he is. He must have gone to find Rain, feeling like it was all his fault that she had been taken. Also, I had been noticing that they were growing closer to each other. I didn't know if it was just a better friendship, or a hint of something else as well. Something stronger. I went to my room to pack. I stuffed my sketchbook, my locket, my three dresses, and what little else was worth taking. I go to Rain's room next. I stuff her most valued belongings into another bag, then walk out the door. I'm going to, well I'm not sure yet. I need to find some sort of civilazation, so I follow the bit of a map that I had picked up among the rubble of Moonshadow's room. I need to find someone to help me. Maybe I can learn more about FaFA and possibly even join. I take a deep breath and set off in what I think is a southern direction.
