When I awoke,I was lying beside the creek. My back left paw was throbbing, the one that had been injured when they took my parents. I had limped on it ever since, but it hurt worse than usual now. I tried to stand, but crumpled to the ground. I wasn't worried. Even though I couldn't call for help from this far out in the woods, I knew Anwen would come looking for me eventually. Even if she didn't, Rain was bound to come this way before too long. But no one came. The sun went down, and the moon came up, but still no one came. I gazed at the stars, and soon fell asleep at the sound of chirping crickets. When the sun rose again, my eyes blinked open and I panicked. Where was I?! What happened!? Then it all came back to me in a rush. The creek, the creature, my paw. My paw! I was standing, and it didn't hurt. I tried walking. Still no pain. Without a thought more about my paw, I raced home. ~

When I reached the small clearing where the hut was, I heard something. I walked nearer. Then, to my great surprise, I saw Anwen sitting on the porch, a piece of crisp paper in her hand, sobbing. She didn't look up, and didn't seem to notice I was there either.  I ran up to her. "Anwen!  Is something wrong?" I asked in a worried voice. When she saw me, she threw her arms around my neck, and sobbed into my furry white shoulder. "Moonshadow!" She said between sobs. "I thought I would never see you again!" Then she gave me shove. I stumbled backwards. "This is all your fault!" She yelled. "If you didn't run off and abandon us none of this would of happened!We thought you were gone for good! You were supposed to protect us!!" I was shocked. "What? What's all my fault? What happened?!" I asked. "And where's Rain?" She burst into sobs again. "They took her!" "Who took her!?" "They were BIG agents! They came in a cart, and took her away!! I tried to fight them off, but they slapped me to the ground! The biggest one was mean! The other one told him to stop and that they didn't have time for this, and then a piece of paper from their cart blew into my hand." "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down." I said. "Did they introduce themselves?" "Yes they said they were Bob and Gog and professor Corneilia Hornshaw sent them." "Ok. I guess I'll just tell you everthing." I tore the notice I had seen the day before off of the tree. "I saw this the other day. I didn't want to worry you about it just yet, but now that this has happened I guess you should know. It might be important." I held the notice up. " I walked down to the creek and some animal did something to me. Tranquillized me with a dart or something. My paw," I looked back at it. "They did something to it when I was asleep. I couldn't walk home until this morning. You're right, Anwen. This is all my fault. I'm so sorry." A single tear dribbled down my face at the thought of dear, sweet Rain being pulled away to some unknown and terrible fate. She handed me the piece of paper. It was addressed to her, and was an offer from BIG. Rage seethed inside me. Just because she was a human didn't mean Anwen wanted to join B.I.G.!! I went to my room. I had a lot of packing to do.
