My name is the Claw. I'm a farmer-turned-criminal mastermind. The truth, though? I didn't do what they gave me the title of "Criminal Mastermind" for. I just have a lot of powerful enemies. My brothers and sisters are the only reason I've ever even committed a crime. The time i killed someone? defending my family. The time I stole the Grand Jewel of Entarian? They threatened my family. But the worst crime I ever committed, the time I helped kill a king, you ask? Vengeance. He killed my sister. His name was Catastrophe. And he was not a good king, despite what some people say. He killed his wife!!! if you can't trust those you love, you might as well throw yourself off a cliff. The plot all started on a cold night, eight years ago... but I'm jolted out of my thoughts by a bolt of red light striking the gravel next to me, sending up a rush of flame. I hurl myself out of the way, but my siblings aren't so lucky, their fur, hair, skin scorched and burning. I dump sand on them, smothering the flames, but they're burned beyond belief. I put my ear to each of their chests. Oh, Felis, no! Wraith and Shadow are alive, but Tooth...oh, Tooth. I drag them back to our home, put Wraith and Shadow in their beds, and slowly bury Tooth in her favorite spot in the garden, and rest my face in my paws. I... I can't take down Catastrophe alone, and Shadow and Wraith are too injured to help... Wait, the Resistance might help, but they'd want the Amulets, of which i have two now, I realize. I look down at Tooth's amulet, the Ice amulet, and turn it over. Mine has some strange symbols on the back that I've never been able to interpet, and so does this one. I put this one on, and with a flash of light the two amulets snap together. The symbols suddenly make sense! it appears to be... a message?

"On the midwinter day of the year of the Pig, the Disaster shall be weakest, and-" the message cuts off there, presumably because the other two amulets hold the rest. I go inside, look at the other two, and realize that together they read:

"-he shall fall by ice or fire. But so will the one who wields it." 

I know I can't let my sibling, Shadow ,be the one who falls. I sadly look at xim and take his amulet. It too snaps together with my own. I take Wraith's, too, since they'll try to follow me invisibly once i wake up, and I can't let Shadow get xis amulet back. Not now. I feel a strange rush of power when the completed Amulet snaps together, and i grab a cloak and head to where I know I can find trustworthy people to help out. The Mountain Dens.

The Mountain Dens are a place founded recently just outside Northern Kyngdom as a place for people to hide from Catastrophe. the Claw is going to put together a team there to help him in a (slightly foolhardy) assassination attempt at Catstrophe, and the message basically said that Catastrophe will be weakest on Midwinter day.
