What happened to Raven Shadows while she was "off-line"
Raven flipped the sign at the front of her smithy from open to closed. She needed a break. Things were in a certain amount of chaos (she heard snippets of a person named Catastrope, but they were only rumors and talk, not defninite information), and if there was one thing she hated, it was not knowing what was going on. She thought about the last time she didn't know what was going on. When she had been forced into the hybrid projects at B.I.G. when she was nine. That was the last time she had seen her parents. She was lucky to have been tossed out alive. And lucky that she was able to find her way back to her family's tiny house.
She sighed. A break was really tempting, but a vacation was an absolutely tantalizing idea. No more than half-an hour later, the sign at the front said: "come back next week" and she was flying though the cool night air, her armor on and her sword secured at her hip. She took a moment to relish being in the air once more and to feel the beating of her powerful wings. She didn't really know where she was flying until the sky began to lighten with the rising sun and she was standing infront of an old and run down cottage in the edge Windswood. She swallowed. A wonder she managed to fly here in a matter of eight hours since she spent a good amount of time trying to avoid the Windswoods. The cottage itself would have been cozy and welcoming had it been in it's former state. Raven took a shaky step forward. One peek she told herself. I won't disturb anything else. Another step. There is the window sill Mom used to place her flowers on. Another step. And that's the piece of land Dad kept for his smithing. Another step. And this is the doorway we used to run through every evening when dinner was ready. Slowly, Raven pushed open the door. Dust stirred from where it had rested for the past eight years. When she came back here after the hybrid experiments, she never really looked to see how much her home had been overturned when B.I.G. took her and her famillly. The table had been overturned, china plates crushed on the ground, and paintings thrown off thier hooks from where they once hung proudly for all to see. Raven's wings droopped, and she could not say how long she stood standing infront of a ruined home. She only snapped out of her reveire when she heard a noise behind her. She stepped back out of the cottage. hand on her sword feet open in a fighting stance. The brush shook, before a man burst out of them, charging with fury and locked in a maddened state. He brandished a two handed broadsword and she barely had enough time to leap backwards, her wings flapping in agitation and she drew her sword. It, comparitively, was much smaller and wearker than a broadsword, and unlike his weapon which was made for heavy and often leathal hits, hers was made to be quick, and to stab rather than slash and smash and opponent. He swung and she scrambled backwards further into the cottage. He swung and she decided that if she had to fight, then she would fight in a situation she could control. She ducked under his swing and lashed out with her sword, managing to cut his leg. He roared, and she took the oppertunity to grab onto his shirt. Her hours in a smithy punding metal paid off. She lifted him over her head and pushed him through the wood roof before dropping him onto the ground infront of the cottage. She could fight in the open air. She had wings. She was a hybrid bred to be powerful, and he-
Raven froze. Amidst all the fighting she never noticed the curved horns prourding from his head. Another hybrid? In her moment of confusion, she didn't notice that the man had gotten up. He jumped, and really jumped, his legs pushing him feveral feet into the air, so that he could grab onto Raven's left foot. Raven was pulled from the air and she slamed onto the ground, her sword clattered out of her hands. The man swung his hammer again, and Raven was barely able to grab onto her sword and block the blow from hitting her face. While the blow was redirected, the sword shattered from the blow. Raven could do nothing more than look at the man. There was a madness in his eyes. She flinched and shut her eyes, waiting for the blow. There was a shout, and Raven look up. A woman had appeared, and had grabbed onto the man.
"Kornar! Kornar! Stop, please! Control yourself!" The man, Kornar she assumed, paused. and looked at her with a blank expression. "Listen to me! You are Kronar. You are human. This isn't the end." More people emerged from the woods. Raven Blinked, her head pounding. They were all hybrids like her and Shadow. The woman handed Kornar off to a few other who walked up, and she turned her attention to Raven. "I'm so sorry. Kornar isn't fully there in his mand. He's been getting better, but he was triggered into a laspe of PTSD I'm really so sor-" she broke off when she noticed Raven's wings. "Diana?" She wispered. Raven froze. Diana. That was her name before the experiments. "Diana!" the woman screeched and pulled Raven into a bone crushing hug. "Oh My Kyngdom, we thought you were dead! You disappeared one evening, we thought you died." Behind her, a few people stepped forward.
"I'm sorry." Raven started. "Who are you? How do you know that name?" The woman pulled back.
"You don't remember? I'm Alura!" Raven stared in confusion. "Experiement A.68 Bluebird?" Raven still stared. "We were cell mates? All of the Avian expiraments were housed in the same cell." Raven shook her head.
"I'm sorry. I don't remeber, or know what you are talking about." Alura sagged.
"Oh." She looked back at the people behind her. "Well, why don't you come with us? We'l patch you back up and fill you in as much as possible."

Raven sipped her mug of chocolat chaud and rubbed her temples. "So, recap. You and I became friends during the B.I.G. experiments, and I was called A.07 Raven, and I disappeard one afternon eight years ago. You and the other Avian experiments were stuck in the labratory, bar one expirement, A.96 Egeal, who managed to escape but I don't have any memory of any of this presumably because B.I.G. wanted to keep thier labs secret and you ony managed to escape recently when B.I.G. was falling apart with the conflict between them and F.A.F.A. and Catasrophe rising to power but only a few of you even managed to survive in the expiraments long enough to escape and a good portion of the surviving expirents have been driven mad from theri time as a lab rat which is why expirament M.03, Kornar, is insane but you and several others were able to lead the expiraments to his cave where you guys have been living for the past month or so." Alura thought about it.
"That about sums everything up." Raven sipped her chocalate. It was a lot to take in.

A week later, Raven stood infront of her anvil, the pieces of her precious sword lying onto of it. Her time with the remaing 28 experaments (a horrifyingly small number seeing as nearly 100 epiraments were performed on different animal groups: Avian, Mammal, Reptile, Inscect, so only 26 out of 400 survived everything) was enlightening in many ways. She understood herslef and the other experaments much better now. And with her time there, she realized how important it was to actually do something. She couldn't just lie around and wait for things to happen. Things were happening. B.I.G. was crumbling. Catastrophe was rising to power. She glanced at a map R.59 (a snake hybrid named Crystal) gave to her. Crystal had circled an area where Raven might be able to get information that one couldn't normaly find. A black market, full of secrets, dirty and vicious people, and information. (When Raven asked how Crystal knew this Crystal only looked at her before handing back the pouch of coins that, as of ten seconds previous, had been tied at Ravens waist. "Hard times," she had said) Raven took the peices of the sword and set them inside the furnace. She would need a name...

In an undergound tavern, Harmony Darimshield eyed the people entering the taven. She sat at a small table with her feet kicked up and holding a small mug of watery ale. Behind her, her crew laughed and cheered at something stupid, while her first mate rolled her eyes in exasperation. The door opened again, and a person wearing an outfit of steel walked in. A sword was strapped at her wiast, and a mask adorned her face. Most surprisingly, she (it was obviously a she) had a pair of large black wings. She walked up to the tavern keeper, and Harmony noticed the hilt of a beautifully crafted dagger. It was a nice dagger. Harmony stood up and walked over. "Hey," she started. "That's a lovely dagger you got there. What do you want for it?" (She hated this part. She was a pirate, not a common trader! If she wanted something, she took it. But rules of the market: trade only. Taking could result in being turned in to the athorities of the nearby town.) The stranger look at her. She thought.
"What information do you have about the Powers and thier relics? What about Catasrophe and his plans?" Harmony squinted at the new commer. So this was interesting. Smart enough to know what something is worth. Most people around here were drunk enough to make bad mistakes in the trading biz.
"I know a bit. I like you, girl. You're smart, and I think we could work ourselves an agreement." She stuck out her hand. "Harmony Darimsheild, Captin of the Golden Palidian." She looked at the hand offered to her before taking it.
"Kestral Ravencaller. Let's make a deal."
