I noticed you put 'what?' for your background slot, so...
Background just basically means backstory, or what your past was like. It can include stuff like, say. If I made a character that was a farmer, I could mention that they worked on the farm as a child.
(Or they could be a snobby city girl that didn't want anyone to know that they came from a farm. Ooh. But, please ignore this part. I have an overactive imagination.)
Anyways, what I meant to say was background is basically just important/interesting parts of your character's past.
