The Academy trains

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

The Academy trains

The Academy trains us every day now. From start to finish, from 0500 to 1700. I'm used to it, but the weaker ones aren't. However, the new Headmistress reminds us every day how the weaker ones will be terminated. So far her statement has been well proved.

I've graduated Valedictorian every year, and I'm coming close to beating a girl named Alexandria's old record now. She had 4,268 kills by the time she graduated early. I'm planning on graduating early with the score of 5,000.

Even though they rebuilt the Academy from the explosion, we still have the new but same designed Sleeping Room. It's large and has several beds in it. My bed used to be next to another girl, Molly. I killed her today. But it doesn't bother me unlike her friend who cried and tried to punch me when I killed Molly in Hand to Hand Combat Practice. I didn't get a mark. Instead, Molly's friend Isabelle got a bruise to her stomach and a black eye. She would have gotten a broken necklace  if Headmistress didn't tell me to quit.

Soon the best of the class are going to be a part of a secret mission involving infiltrating the Resistance from the inside. I know I'm going to be a part of the mission, and I can't wait to put Alexandria's death on my record. I'm tired of being in her shadow. Even though she's a traitor, they still manage to talk about her at the Academy.

I walk through the halls in a neat fashion, passing many of the other girls. I'm heading to the cafe, the only place where freefighting is allowed. There are no rules in the cafe. You only hope for peace, and if someone tries to fight with you, you win. Period.

I walk down the stairs, keeping the mandatory two feet distance from the blonde girl in front of me, and carrying my book in my right hand, even though I'm a leftie. It's part of the rule though, even if you're dominant hand isn't the right. Once we reach the bottom, I silently go around her as she goes to her friends. But no one makes real friends here. The only reason to make friends is to find weakness. If you find weaknesses, you win fights. You survive another day.

I don't make friends. I don't expose myself to expose them. Instead, I sit at my own table and observe. I watch every movement. Shannon has a limp. Arlene has an underbite. Lilac has double jointed arms. Phoebe can't stand straight. All these are going to be useful to know in battle. Everyday is a battlefield, except Thursdays. On Thursdays we learn to lie, steal, and act innocent and pure like little children to trick others better. Then we have a small battle session for only two hours.

I read while eating my portion, making sure to throw the rest of the heavy calorie food away. Food is important for muscle, but food will never be the thing that slows me down. Several girls look over in my direction, obviously talking about me. Why do I care? I'll probably kill them later anyway. I mostly ignore it when one of them, Violetta, prances over to my table.

"Hey Redie. What's with that usual frown? And let me emphasise usual."

Her friends that she's either going to kill or be killed by laugh along. Another weakness to add to Violetta's record--stupidity.

I ignore her and continue reading. I hear her snort as she snatches the book, and I let out a small cry when she chucks it across the room. Then she stands up, trying to intimidate me.

"Listen up, Charlotte. You're going to be dead when I fight you. You will be DEAD!" she says, while slamming her fist on the table with that last part. I don't even blink.

I ignore her and get up, calmly getting my book from across the room. Then I walk back to my table where Violetta stands, infuriated, before I sit down and continue to read.

She screams in frustration and launches across the table, tackling me to the floor. She takes a swing at me, and her fist leaves a dent on the floor as I dodge. I then use my legs to kick her off me. Before she goes flying, I catch her neck with my legs and twist her around, sitting up myself while I put her in a headlock.

"Is this what you want?" I demand. "Because I think your statement took an opposite turn! I could just twist your neck and within a second, you won't be making threats like that again."

She whimpers and scrambles under my grasp but goes no where, desperately trying to breathe.

"Charlotte," a calm voice says. I look up.

Headmistress.

"Let her go."

I hesitate when she speaks again.

"Charlotte."

I let out a huff of annoyance and let go. Violetta collapses and gasps for air.

"Come with me, Charlotte," Headmistress says.

I do, and feel the eyes of the students trailing behind me. I don't mind. Why?

Because I didn't show any weakness.

How does Charlotte know about Alexandria?

Charlotte goes to the same Academy that Alexandria went to. They still talk about Alexandria often.

I scoff and follow Headmistress through the never ending hallways before we finally reach her office. I let out a sigh of relief when she opens her door, and there's only her office and two small armchairs in a large room. No guns, no scientists with shots. Just an office. For now.

We walk in and she motions for me to sit in an armchair while she sits across from me.

"So, Luna," she begins.

"Charlotte," I reply angrily.

With the calm gaze of a snake, she hisses, "Watch your tone."

I sit up higher in my chair.

"So, Charlotte," she begins again. "That fight was entirely inappropriate for a luncheon setting."

I scoff again. "Is this why you pulled me aside? If it's so important to you, then why didn't you stop it earlier?"

"One question at a time," she quietly says. "Let's be patient. I didn't stop it because I wanted to see who would finish as victor. And you are right, I pulled you aside for a different reason."

I raise an eyebrow. She continues.

"You see, we are discussing graduating you early, similar to what has only been done once before with Alexandria. The Graduation Ceremony will of course, take place before you graduate, but we believe you are ready to start working as a full time spy and assassin."

I nod and push away my anger about her mentioning Alexandria. "Anything else?"

She sighs and stands up. I stand up with her as we walk towards the door.

"No, dear. Just train and prepare. No mercy will be shown at the Ceremony."

Okay, Headmistress Palpun. I won't show any.

Maybe I misinterpreted something. What did you mean by "I can't wait to put Alexandria's death on my record."? I took it to mean that Charlotte was looking forward to killing Alexandria. As far as everyone knows, Alexandria's already dead. (Everyone, that is, minus Mina, Shadow, Alex, and Alexandria herself. I think that's everyone.)

She has her sources. Besides, I’m going to build explanations throughout the plot. I am created Alexandria after all.

As in, you're the same person as the author of Alexandria? Oh! That makes so much more sense!

Yep. And it would have made sense anyway, I would have written more later instead of revealing everything in the first entry. Sorry if that’s what you expected.

Okay, I get it now. I'm sorry for the confusion!
