We wandered long

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

We wandered long

We wandered long in the heat of a desert. Our eyes blurred and cried under the smoke-filled sky. A collum of ash rained down around us, and the sand of the ground seemed to fly away. Archa tripped. I jumped down, looking at their leg. It had been slashed open by something.

"Why are you here?" a voice said.

"We want to make sure the rumors are true." I replied.

THe voice came from a small form floating in the haze. A ghost.

"SailHaven has fallen. Elliot is dead." THe ghost said.

I looked forward, and saw that the spector said the truth. Burning sheets of metal buried small houses and merchendise. Tombs were everywere, and hasily dug mounds seemed to form a wall.

We turned, and walked away. As we did, something caught our eye. A mound of carefully stacked jewels was lying to our right. We walked over, drawing our knives. Archa picked up a stone, and threw it at the pile. Some of the golden jewels were flung into the air, and something else was revealed. A blood red sword. A katana. Elliot's blade.

Elliot was dead.

We walked forward, and scrounged in the pile. Removing the jewels, we found that there was an ornate stone coffin underneath, with two katanas, and two arm blades. We each picked up an arm blade, and lights lit up along the two foot long curved blade. The blades fused with one of our arms in an instant, and we saw something else change: metal was growing on us. Soon, our arms were incased in metal growths. Something about the blades had interacted with us in a way not intended by the creators. Something was going wrong with any last trace of SailHaven.

Suddenly, another ghost appeared: Elliot.

"You were sent to kill me. But I think it is time you suceed me. Go forth. Use my gift to you to fight tyranny, and bring back the days of peace. You are the heirs of SailHaven." THe ghost said, before vanishing.

All around us, chunks of burning metal were sinking into the sand. SailHaven was gone. Gone forever. And we needed to unite the last of its peoples.

YOU are here again? Seriously? Mip. Okay, maybe if we just focus on the battle it will roll by...

We are looking for those loyal to Elliot to help us build a new base so that we can continue the honour of SailHaven. Those who join us can gain diplomatic immunity, and protection from foes. Should any group, Catastrophe, BIG, or Resistance, wish to aide us, we will join the fight on their side.

I wouldn't fight for Catastrophe or B.I.G. if I were you. There is... something that will happen that you might not expect. Trust me on this.

Ok, we will be expecting the Resistance to aid us in our mission, if you seem to be so noble and accepting. We will fight when you tell us to.

I'm not part of the Resistance. I can't offer their help. I wasn't offering anything, I was just warning you.

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Are the knives you mention drawing the ones Trixie made you? Sorry, I'd just be excited if they are.

No. They are of ancient SailHaven craftmanship.

Well, pooh. Okay! What happened to the knives she made?

OH, I thought you were asking in character. I imagine they are, but I have two very rude characters.

Oh, okay. Lol, I totally wasn't expecting that. Well, OOC, yay! It's her knives! And in character, well fine. I see how it is. Actually, she has no idea what they're up to, so it doesn't really change anything.

I walk through the blowing sand, seeing the cavern in the cliffside. My reasearch told me that there was an entrance to the cave that SailHaven sank into in the cliff, and I was not usually wrong.

"Yes, she is the one." A vocie behind me says.

I turn, drawing my spear. A cloaked figure darts into the sandy depths of the tunnel.

I follow suit. The tunnel is dank, and musty clouds of ooze fall from the ceiling. I cast a simple light enchantment on my spear. It makes the journey easier, but makes my position known to the other person in the tunnel.

I see something ahead of me. I stop, and watch as a humanoid advances, and then I black out.

I wake up tied to a statue of a winged beast. Omnipononi and Archa are standing by me, and I catch a glipse of a towering mountain of ruined metal and fire. This is the fate of the flying city, SailHaven. Resistance, please please help me. Finish off these beasts, and set me free. PLEASE.

Rose is Poe's sister. I can't help right now, as I am fighting, but can we send some people out? If not, I'll go myself. I need to head to SailHaven for a mission anyway.

I will go! If we're doing an expedition. After the battle of course. And after I heal...

I was planning on going to SailHaven by myself, and this was a rescue mission, but....

Would you mind going with me to rescue Rose and then go on another mission. It's pretty important to me, as Poe Allen died trying to tell me about it. I just thought you know SailHaven pretty well, so....yeah. Please?

Resistance, please help.

My captors unchain me, and led me through a path. More like a tunnel, really. Giant chunks of scrapmetal stab down at us, and fires dance in abandoned sidepasseages. The sand seems to be held back from the tunnel by use of a simple magical device, keeping the sand in suspension. Maybe, if I can find it, that same deivice could be part of some super-cool escape. But not likely.

Suddenly, the passage ends. Towering sheets of metal contort and bend into an ever changing archway of destruction in front of us, and the passage behind us seals itself back into the desert. Odd cackling is heard in the massive stone mounds that lay around us. This was not simple magic, somebody had made SailHaven their new base.

"Bring them in." Something said.

I passed out for the second time in 48 hours.

I woke up in a pool of gooey sand. Something above me growls a deep, low, steady growl. Omnipononi stands by me, and raises their ax. They swing, and something slides, metalicly, to the ground. A slimey mass oozes out of the ground. I see a giant, round eye, the colour of dried blood, stare at me, and then something else grabs me. SOmething made of horrible, stinging gell. An octopus tentacle. I turn, and see the octopus. It lay in a pool of Aether, its red head as big as half of SailHaven. Wait a second. How many tentacles are there. THere appear to be about five holding me, but they are too tiney to belong to that giant. I turn some more. I see one tentacle, massive and coated in blue goop, and the hundreds of little ones that wiggle from it. Something had happened. This was not a normal octopus, this was not even an octopus.
I stopped thinking as the beast dropped me. I started falling, falling, falling. This was the end. "Resistance, you need to find out what the unicorn is." I telepathicly sent to the resistance members. "This is not the unicorn, there is a unicorn under here in the ruins. Goodbye. Don't try to save me. I am already gone."

I didn't die. Spmething stopped me.

"You will soon see why I brought you here." THe monster said.
