Kyngdom Survival Guide

RP thread for

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

RP thread for

RP thread for the Elites

There was no RP thread that took place anywhere where I was, so I started this one. I'm in the northern part of the Barelands waiting for Trixie W.

Hazel~

Though the barelands are less cold than the northern reaches of Kyngdom, this dry, chilly air isn't much of a relief. It feels strange, as though it's hot and cold at the same time. It clings to my arms and legs like a fog.

Dead, brown grass stretches as far as the eye can see. It's kind of depressing. A few boulders are heaped here and there, around which a few black antelope graze. Hm. Never seen those before.

I've arranged to meet Trixie out here, which shouldn't be too hard--it's not as if there's anything to get lost in. Originally I was going to meet up with Nieke and Alex, but they were nowhere to be found. After my fingers nearly froze solid during my trek in the snow, (my coat had been stolen, along with a bunch of other important supplies), I'd figured it would be better to look for Trixie instead, whom I knew was somewhere warmer.

I walk across the dry soil and sit down on a boulder. Setting my pack down on the hard grey surface next to me, I fish through it for a pair of binoculars. When I find them, I put them to my eyes and survey the horizon.

The grey, desolate landscape stares gloomily back at me. All I have to do now is wait.

How exciting.

This starts a bit before Hazel's post.

~Trixie~

I open the door of the Bog and Burrow and step in. It was a long trip from home, but it's worth it to find out what's going on. I love my hometown dearly, but Catastrophe's army could march down main street and the wouldn't notice. I'm lucky I have to travel so much. I find a table, sit down, and see whether I can learn anything interesting. There's the normal hum of conversation (X is sick, Y did this, Z said that) but nothing worth bothering about until someone at the table to my right speaks.
"I hear Hazel's getting her Elites back together." The other person at the table replies,
"Yeah, they weren't doing much for a while. Hazel had gone off to do something, and what's a group without it's leader?" I don't need to hear anymore. I slip out of my seat and leave the building. Once I'm far enough away, I activate the communication function I built into Hazel's Cypher. Before I can say anything though, I get a message from Hazel. Are any of you still part if the team? Just curious. I grin. It's nice to get a break, but I've been itching to get back out and about. I send back my answer and get on the road. I do want to see my family again before I leave. By the time I've made plans to meet up with Hazel, I'm back home. I pack my bag, say goodbye, make sure I have everything, and leave. The trip is uneventful, and I pass the time thinking of ways I can add to my bracelet to make it a weapon with out damaging it.

Hazel~

A half hour later, I see something on the horizon, and for once it doesn't look like a black antelope. A quick look through my binoculars confirms that it's Trixie!

I stand up and wave, and once she waves back, I bend down and gather my things together (except for my Cypher, which goes in an easily accessible pouch of its own), stuffing them back into my bag. Farewell, rock. I can't say I'm sad to leave you.

I leap to the ground and signal Trixie (with my trusty Cypher) that I'll meet her halfway, then take off running.

"Hi, Trixie!" I say when I'm close enough to talk without yelling. "Thanks so much for meeting me here."

"I was itching for some adventure," she replies with a grin. "Where have you been lately? I haven't heard from you in ages."

"Sorry for disappearing..." I reply sheepishly. "I went on a month-long trip following Jaaws's trail of destruction. I had to go completely undercover. Then I tried to find Nieke and Alex, but I guess I was mistaken about their location, because by the time I got to the Wreath Wall they were somewhere else. I couldn't go looking for them because...well, I'm rambling now. Long story short, I haven't seen civilzation in a long time."

"So what's our plan now?" Trixie asks, surveying the horizon.

"I guess it's time we find Jaaws," I say with a shrug, "and get some REALLY accurate information. Oh!--that reminds me." I reach into my bag and pull out a copy of the information sheet on Jaaws. Handing it to Trixie for her to look over, I say, "This is all the information I got while I was on my trip, condensed into one page. I was thinking about handing informational flyers out to the cities we pass through, if we happen to pass through any."

"Find Jaaws?! Are you sure we're ready for that? I mean...it's just the two of us." Trixie gives me back the paper.

"Yeah, you're probably right. I think we should do a little more research first. Maybe we can gather the team as we travel."

"Which way are we going to go?" Trixie asks.

"Probably back to the north...that's where everyone is saying they 'saw Jaaws'. I'd like to keep close to her, even if we don't try to follow her directly."

~End Rp

Trixie, you can finish the conversation! If you don't want to go back to the north I understand; that's why I'm letting you finish. We'll go whatever way you suggest.

Also, please tell me if I portrayed Trixie wrong. I always get worried about those kinds of things.

You were fine. I can't write now, because I think we're about to have dinner. Afterwards though, I'll right. Also, I was gone for the weekend, did anything happen I should know about?

Note about my last post: By fine, I meant you were fine a writing Trixie. Anyway, here is a tiny bit of writing because I need Hazel's answer so I can't keep writing.

~Trixie~

"Well then, northern Kyngdom, here we come. What about this ball coming up? Should we go to that?"

~End RP~

Ta da! Like I said, tiny.

"The ball...you mean the Annual Flower ball?" I ask, suddenly remembering it being mentioned on the news a few days ago.
Trixie nods.
"Well...I didn't RSVP, unfortunately, so I'd have to wait outside. But if you think we should go, we can certainly head over there. I heard that a lot of Resistance agents were going, and where there's the resistance, there's usually trouble. I need to restock on supplies and buy some winter clothes anyway. Let's make the Rose Castle our first pit stop."
A quick marking of maps occurs, and then we're on our way.

Never mind. Apparently the ball is over. I guess we can keep writing here then.
