Shadow handed it to him, looking slightly surprised.
"Go on then," she said.

For those who can't or don't want to translate it themselves, the note said "Help captured by Black Skull somewhere in Northern Kyngdom, Merida Bear and Kevin Lawrence".

"Well, I know Cypher doesn't include punctuation, but if it did, the message seems to say:
"Help! Captured by Black Skull, somewhere in Northern Kyngdom. Merida, Bear and Kevin Lawrence.
"Bird, that's your family... right?" David finished.
Bird nodded tearfully.
"Right."
"Okay, well, I guess this is a helpful lead! Currently, the Black Skull (or at least their prisoners) are somewhere in Northern Kyngdom. This also means that, although they deny it, they most likely set of that mine field." Connie said. "Let's start planning."
