Winged Ones

Winged Ones

In the midst of the war, three teenagers, the last of their species in SailHaven, try to investigate their history in Kyngdom while supporting the animals. They aren't sure how they feel about the Powers. They are called Winged Ones because they are a half bird, half human mix. They have wings which come out of their shoulder blades, but they still have hands. they can speak human language and animal, and usually send messages or letters in Cypher.

Aviance, Cornibus (nickname Connie), and Volucris (nickname Vol) are the three living in SailHaven. I play Aviance and sometimes the other two, but others can make more. In fact, it would be cool if they met another Winged One living in SailHaven, either a lot older or their same age. Someone could play Connie or Vol if they want... I think Vol is crushing on Aviance.

Currently, Aviance has followed a boat to the execution and is searching for her friends there. She has been sighted by SOCS but left a message in Cypher asking for help finding her friends. Hopefully, it is found by someone in FaFa or the Resistance...

Someone can add to this story if they want. If you make a new winged one, please have their name have something to do with birds, flying, parts of a bird, etc. I used Latin roots, but do what you want.

This could be cool if people add it to the story.

Yes, I'm a Homo Avian (that's what we are), and so is Shadow and Brynn. Shadow is a Resistance fighter, Brynn's the Angel of Death, and I am a commander of Catastrophe's army. Shadow is 13, Brynn is 7, and I am 14.

Cool!

Yes, the official name for our species is Homo avian, but the ancient name is the Winged Ones.

What is the Angel of Death?Innocent

Aviance-

An Angel of Death is hard to explain, but one thing that happens is that occasionally your vision will go wonky and you will be looking through the eyes of an animal or another being who is about to die. Sometimes you will hear voices as well. They look the same as a Winged One.

Sorry... Um, are you a boy or girl? I just don't want to mess up in my writing. Sealed

Ooh, you could post about Vol and Aviance on the Crushes thread!

I know that there are some other Homo Avians, including Wing, who is in his teens and has one and a half snowy owl wings, Valaya, who is younger (I think maybe 8-12) and has hummingbird wings, and Valaya's sister Ava, the age and wings of whom I don't know. I made some sketches of them if you want to see.

I think I was one of the first to really emphasize that winged folk had their own culture in Kyngdom. The SOCS has been expirimenting with Homo Avians since they've been around, and I was one of the first. Then they began to make more and more. There are now zoos of Homo Avians that the SOCS has created, since the SOCS believes the Homo Avians to be no more than animals. Wing, Valaya, Brynn and Ava used to be in one of these zoos.

I was also the original Angel of Death. The Angel of Death doesn't only get visions, but can control who dies. They can bring back themselves and others back from the dead. They also have healing powers and can sometimes get odd dreams from the past. The Angel of Death isn't exactly one person, but a spirit that transfers from one person to another when needed. The Angel of Death needed to hide from Catastrophe, BIG and the SOCS, so they chose to be reincarnated as me. Then, I decided to pass off my powers to a young girl in the angel enclosure named Brynn. It is now my job to train her in how to use her godlike powers.

If you have any questions on Homo Avian culture, you can ask me.

I am not a winged one though I do have wings. I am half dragon half human and I have red dragon wings I am 1400 (but for a mortel I would be 14).

Hm... Would you still be considered an angel? Ponderous query. I actually recall now, I've drawn several other winged girls (boys are less common on the Who's here thread and don't seem to be interested in wings anyway)--Sakri comes to mind, and Alica Harrow. And there are several shapeshifters who could theoretically take angel forms. Solana is an especially interesting case. Not a shapeshifter, debatably winged, and probably not what you expect.

By 'angel', do you mean Winged One/Homo avian? There is only one Angel of Death.

Also - all pure Winged Ones have their own special type of wings, and if they have a different type (hummingbird, eagle) then they are technically crossbreeds... but we all came from the same ancestors.Laughing

The ones that are hummingbird or eagle that are mentioned here are actually genetically engineered by the SOCS, like me. As far as I know, I was the first of the genetically engineered Homo Avians. I was originally completely human, with the Angel of Death's spirit inside of me. Then the SOCS (or BIG, it's unclear) injected me with a serum they'd been giving me since birth, and it completed the final stages of my metamorphasis. Since I was given wings, dozens of other genetically engineered Homo Avians have been popping up, coming out of hiding. Any others before me were probably Winged Ones or Crossbreeds as you stated earlier, with other Wingeds in their ancestry.

Yes, I call people with bird wings coming out of their backs angels, and people with non-bird wings (dragon, bat, etc.) and/or wings coming from their arms winged people. I'm going to call the Winged Ones Winged Ones, with capitalization and the use of 'ones' instead of 'people' to differentiate them from angels. And when I'm talking about the Angel of Death, I'll capitalize and specify that she's of death. Make sense?

'Winged People' are already called Winged Ones, so yes, it would probably be clearer if you called them that. However, Winged Ones only have bird wings, so if you're not sure, just call them Homo avians, which covers any winged animal/human mix, specifically genetically engineered bird people.

Um... I think you may have misunderstood? For me, all people with wings are in the big general category of "people with wings", which is then divided into winged people, angels, and Winged Ones. I am not uncertain of which people are which, and I can explain the differences if you like. I'm sorry if this sounds rude.

Sorry!

You're right, I misunderstood. That's okay, I know the differences. Apologies if I sounded rude...

P.S. (you are so good at drawing!)

My CAPTCHA says bube. Bube? That means 'Villian' in German. A German villian... Oh, no! *backs away*

I think something like that is Russian or Yiddish for Grandmother. Bubbe? I have a friend who uses that term, but I've never seen it spelled out.
