Kyngdom Survival Guide

I was so

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

I was so

I was so close.
Caelani and I had worked out a plan. Well, mainly me and Ecio, but Ecio's so grumpy. Who'd want to be with him? And proud. And significantly proper, and imposing.
Very. Imposing.
I had gotten on Caelani's back. I was basking in energy. My body was full of the blue glow I get. I was laughing and feeling my hair wafting through the wind. Caelani was extremely serious-- "Don't laugh. We're in a time of war." He chatised. I had muttered something about Ecio's sense of humor rubbing off on him. He roared, and then it happened.
His wings tilted and whistled through the air all wrong. I had a sideways frown--what if we didn't get to Moonshadow and steal, I mean borrow, Lunee from her?
Caelani was a bit of a showoff. A fancy flier, sort of arrogant, sort of proud, mainly all drama and show.
He tilted his wings and I felt the sensation of plummeting like a rock as I
reached for anything to grab onto.
Then he shot up. I could almost imagine Ecio's disdainful response to this. Poor Ronan had to go with Ecio down on the ground...ah, well. It had been for the best, he didn't have wings.
Happiness had turned to panic. I screamed, not finding any place to hold onto, my knees pulling around his body, and air whistling by.
I started yelling, and he took this as a yell of thrill, to go faster.
My knees had slipped off of him until all I had felt was open air.
I had glided down, tried to do my best with the air currents, tried to feel the wind under my wings perfectly.
Caelani never noticed that I fell. I had closed my eyes and glided, glided, glided, glide--
When I opened my eyes again, I hit the ground running and collapsed under a bush for some sleep. Ecio and Ronan were considerably slower than Caelani, they would probably find me when I woke up.
But it wasn't them who found me.
I remember feeling the strangest rolling sensation. I remember opening my eyes and seeing dust flying off of gravel and flying everywhere in clouds.
I took a deep breath and glanced at my surroundings. I was in the bed of a truck--and no. NO! No, this couldn't be.
I recognized this sight from B.I.G. A wire cage. Some like this would hold medium sized dogs. And I was stuffed in it.
The strange rumbling under me stopped, and a single eye swung into view. I sucked in breath quickly.
It was a bobcat. A devil cat, they called them, and all on account of their scream.
I took a deep breath and slowly began to tap on the floor of the wire cage. I used a sort of morse code/sign language to understand the animals back in the forest. I only understood the basics of animal language. I only understood as much as scientists did--warning calls and such. When they called for a mate, when they were in danger. I imitate their barks from time to time. After all, being raised by animals has it's ups and downs. One of these was that we had to communicate in a very brief morse/sign language.
It tilts it's head and glares at me with jewel-like, amber eyes. It opens it's mouth--and screams in a shriek to bring the mountains down.
I was never taught in bobcat. I tried to compare it to a wolf's howl, then a bird's chirp, then a hawk's cry, then a deer's mau.
I couldn't discover what it meant. I tilted my head to the side and akwardly moved my position to 'rolled over', a sign of submission, and ducked my head away from it, folding my fairy wings. The wings! I was touching Caelani for so long, they'll probably last for days! If only Anwen was here...she was my greatest partner in crime...
It lets out another peircing shriek, a truly eerie sound. It's cry doesn't warble--it is. It simply is a bobcat scream. It's a bobcat's sound, in the same way that a bird has it's specific sound, or us humans have our own language.
I peep out from my position. The bobcat is gone, and in it's place is a grizzled man, very unshaven, tough-looking, and...well...barbaric.
I see it's head over the man's shoulder, and then see the cypher in his hand. He must be for cypher labs! He can let me out of here! I sigh with relief and glance out into the dusty road.
"You're right, this one is feral. Just like those pit-spitting nonsense warblers at B.I.G think you animals are." The man says in a tough voice mingled with a southern Kyngdom accent.
I take a deep breath and sit in a much more humane position.
"Finally, someone who knows what's going on! Can you help me?! What is that bobcat saying?! I never learned bobcat basics--although it's impossible for a human to speak full animal of any type except for maybe domesticated wolf, or parrot." I chatter.
He sighs. "Now, where's the feral girl we found sleeping under a bush in a torn up outfit?" He asks, poking the bars of the wire cage.
"Wha--" I start to say. He sighs. "You mutants are so--" He cuts into me. I cut back into him. "I'm not a mutant, I just have some fairy blood or something--" I start to say. He cuts back into me. "Yeah, you're not a mutant, but people still pay good money to see you. Me and Rake, we'll sell anything if people pay." The man said, touching a dirt-crusted nail to the bobcat's claw.
"I don't understand--animals are supposed to be good, on my side--" I say, flustered. The man snorted. "Just the majority of animals are against B.I.G. But riddle me this, are all humans undivided on one political movement?" He asks.
I snort. "Of course not. You're a human, you should know this." I say. He rolls his eyes. "I am a human, duh. I was playing you. Do you think all animals are all for one political movement?" He asks, his breath coming in ragged, the foul stench of it--smelling like wild onion and rotton eghh--blasting in my face. I don't normally mind THAT much about hygine (I usually chew the right leaves from certain bushes to freshen my breath), but this is just...uck.
I suddenly feel really idiotic. "Hey, Whispering Creek, get away from that steering wheel! Let the one with hands do the steering!" He suddenly blubbers after staring at his cypher. He leaves it behind, sitting right in front of my bars.
The bobcat gracefully jumps onto the bed of the dusty black truck in front of me, it's eyes filling me with parylyzing fear.
It lets out a tiny noise, and I stare at the pixelated words on the screen. "You're going to love the inclosure."
I stare at it. "You're a traitor to animalkind." I whisper. It lets out a mew similar to that of a house cat. "I would sell my own kind for money. Don't you understand that it's the only way to--" The cypher translates quickly.
"AY! GOLDCLAW! GET OVER HERE!" The man howls from what I guess is the driver's seat of the truck.
The bobcat hisses and flicks it's tail, leaping from the bed of the truck with a last bobcat scream echoing off of the mountains--or off of office buildings? No. The dirt road is too...safari. Maybe something you would see in which I understand is called a 'zoo'.
The bobcat dissapears and leaves one note embedded on the cypher's screen--'money is everything.'
I work my fingers through the bars and gradually shove the cypher off of the bed of the truck.
The truck goes in reverse, and I'm filled with a grim satisfaction as I hear the cypher make a satisfying crunch under it's heavy tires.
I reflect on it's words. 'You're going to love the enclosure'.

Why did you destroy the Cypher?

They carried the girl away before I could even hear her scream. She had been trying to free the bobcat. I had been trying to warn her, though it's hard to hear someone shout a warning when they are halfway up the mountain from you. Then the mudslide had been set off, and I'd tumbled down the rocky slopes after the truck. As it drove away, I watched it carry off the girl.

Why had I been trying to save her?

I recognized her from the papers.

She had been everywhere something interesting was happening.

The underwater ball, Aslahari, Resistance Base Headquarters.

And often times she was with some angel girl or a walking cat, maybe an arctic fox, or even this boy with a lions' mane of hair that really seemed to fancy her. Sometimes, people payed me for information about her whereabouts. I didn't make nearly as much money off of her as I did the angel or the cat, or this blonde boy named 'Disaster' or something, but she was definitely the most interesting. And she's part fairy. Can you think of anything more cool?

Now she was gone.

It's been a very slow crawl with Ecio, who's been snorting the whole way about how vain and braggy his brother is. I'm not happy to be with Ecio, but I suppose it's better than Caelani. All that diving and swooping would give me heart failure or air sickness, whichever came first.

Then we're caught up in a huge ocean of mud, nearly covering us over. Ecio screams and I feel my grip loosen just enough to get carried away about twelve paces. The mud settles and I don't know where anyone is except for Ecio. He seems to be happy for once, frolicking in the mud.

But Icy's gone. Again. And I needed to talk to her about finding the perfect Resistance base.

Ah, Caelani! Can never trust a Gryphon....never...with anything...*rants some more* how am I ever gonna get free if he can't even make sure the stupid PpwerFreind doesn't die?!

~Caelani

Ayearth is the only thing on my mind this second. Disappearing with...with his sideaffected Power?! How could he?! Without even a trace.

I speed up. Faster and faster, she thinks this is all a joke?! I'll show her what's a joke. I just lost my brother to a sideaffected power! We're at war. War! Catastrophe will pay. He will pay.

My wings glided through the air and I reached and drew back my talons and paws like I was running, to go even faster through the air.

But that's when i realized, my back felt empty. It felt cold. The wind pierced it where a human girl was supper to be....

I glanced back, seeing my grey and white feathers ruffle in the wind and my tail flicking behind. My wing feathers ruffled in the wind.

Shocked, I glanced down, then underneath. No PowerFreind.

I cawed in shock and came to an abrute stop in the sky, my wings slicing through the air as I frantically looked around. Then I dived down, flipped in the air, and continued the way I came from.

I scanned the trees, the bushes, the valleys, nothing. I even scanned the air around me to see if she learned how to fly.

Fly...

I remembered when Celesti taught me how to fly. When she would demonstrate, and then let me try. Before long I was better at flying then she was, but she was and will always be my teacher. My mother, in a way.

I shook my head and came back to reality as I caught sight of a brown shape lumbering through the trees bellow. I plummeted down...down...down...crashing through the trees to land in front of Eico. "I lost her." I announced.

"You WHAT?!" Eico roared, the ounce of shock on his face instantly vanishing.

Poor Ronan still looked a bit shocked though, his mouth half open as he processed the conversation. "Wait....you lost Icy?!" He roared.

"YES." I responded. "Who else would I have lost?!"

"Claaws." Eico mumbled silently. "Lunee. Ayearth. Oh, I'm sorry, you already lost two of those."

We stared at each other for a long  moment, the tension almost visible between our eyes. "Well what are you waiting for?!" Ronan interrupted impatiently. "We have a girl to find!"

He clambered off of Eico's back and I bent down to let him clime onto mine. He gripped my feathers tightly, and me and Eico exchanged glances. "If you find her roar as loud as you can. If we do first, we'll turn back and get you." I told him.

He snorted in response and disappeared under the earth. "Hold on tight!" I announced, before spreading my wings, tending my muscles, and taking off into the sky.

We skimmed the trees, eyes switching for a girl with Fea wings. Before long we found a road. And tire tracks swerving from a diving in the bushes. I landed and sniffed it. Ronan felt the bushes, and pulled up a tattered price of clothing. Part of the dress Icy was wearing.

~Ayearth's sideaffected power (can we agree to change it? Because I looked up the definition of the word without the accent marks, and its something completely different then what Lucy ment it to be)

I remember waking. I remember being under the earth. I remember destroying a coral reef. I remember swimming in the middle of the ocean. I remember killing a few humans on a boat. But now, now I remember Sea Serpent. I remember what the others did to me. And I remember my revenge plot. "Sea Serpent," I began as we cut through the waves of the crusty waves with our fins.

"Its just Ayearth, now." He responded, touching my fin with his. I pulled away and he looked away.

"Its been so long, i feal as if I don't know you or your siblings anymore. How about we all get together, go to your cave and call out a truce? I wish to know what happened all these years away..."

"They'll kill you again!" Sea Serpent announced with shock. "They haven't changed for the better, they have a bigger wish to kill then before."

I shook my head. When did he become so stubborn? "Well, maybe they'll accept me. It they don't, you can always save me."

"They don't need to know your back." He growled. "If they did, they would kill us both."

I flicked my tail on annoyance. "Your immortal, remember?!" I hissed.

Suddenly a large seal swam up to us. Sea Serpent looked at it endearingly, while I licked my chops hungerly. I struck, but Sea Serpent stopped me. "When did you become so soft?!" I growled.

I looked at the seal, who swam closer and closer to us. Then it touched my forehead, and darkness instantly poored in.

The seal blinked, realized what it was doing, and swam away.

DoN't Be AfRaId....

The darkness whispered. I saw two red eyes in my mind, and a smile full of sharp and long teeth.

I aM JAaWs. I aLsO sEeK rEvEnGe On ThOsE wHo KiLlEd Me.

Well then, go back to your own head. I hissed. Sea Serpent looked sideways at me as I narrowed my eyes at the water. But to my I was narrowing my eyes at the large teeth and swirling darkness and red eyes that had corrupted my vision.

I wIlL.

It chuckled. The laughing echoed in my head ominously.

BuT I nEED yOuR hElP. EaRn HiS tRuSt. We CaN kIlL hIm WhEn He LeAsT ExPeCtS iT.

But I don't want to kill him.

If YoU wIsH tO kIlL tHe PoWeRs, YoU mUsT kIlL hIm ToO. BuT nOt YeT. KiLl KiLl KiLl.

KiLl. KiLl. KiLl.

The darkness left, but I still felt it lingering with the words and prochicay, kill kill kill.

The snow falls all around me as I treck along the muddy road. I've been following the tire tracks for hours now, but I still haven't caught up to the car.
