I didn't catch

I didn't catch
I didn't catch Alexandria. Someone else caught me.
I was after her, tracking her, yes. But then, out of nowhere, a buck and a man ambushed me. I fought back with all my might, trying to escape the demon deer and his sidekick. I used every power I had in me, but healing powers and an exceptional green thumb aren't very helpful against two men three times stronger and bigger than you. They shot me with a sedative, forcing me into an unnatural sleep. I woke an estamated hour later in a dog crate in the back of a pickup truck on my way to nowhere. I tried to pry open the bars, but I couldn't. Either I was losing my powers or there was some horrable and dark magic at work. Neither option sounds that good to me. Roughly midday I was given a meager meal of bread and cheese by the man. He had dark hair and a scraggly beard, and loads of tattoos. He looked a little bit like a streetfighter. Not the kind of guy I wanted to be heald captive by. After eating the cheese, I started feeling sleepy. They must have slipped something in the food. I was knocked out. When I woke up next, I had some news.
The good news was I was out of the dog crate.
The bad news, I was in a a forest, surrounded by other people. But, they weren't normal people. They all had wings. Like me.
This, my dear friends, is the part where I screamed.

"Guys, guys, give her some room!" I heard a voice say from the back, "She's obviously terrified."
Well, he got that right. The person stepped to the front, and I saw that he was a boy about the age of fifteen, with shaggy light brown hair, blue eyes, and-
"Oh my Claaws. You have wings." I said.
"Well, so do you."
"I'm sorry, it's only that I've never seen another bird-person before. Well, there was this strange run-in with an assasin-" I was going to continue untilI relized I was rambling, "Sorry, I guess I'm just a bit flustered. Where the heck am I?!"
"You are in The Enclosure."

"The Enclosure?"
"Yes," responded the boy. I looked at him a little more. His wings were that of a snowy owl, white with black specks and soft looking. Well, wing and a half. One was half-amputated- missing any primary feathers. He wore strange clothes, made of a dark brown cloth that looked hand woven. Both his pants and shirt were loose-fitting, and he didn't have any shoes, "It's basically a zoo. Well, part of one. A zoo where the SOCS keeps mutants, either for a certain project or ones that- didn't turn out the way they were expected to." He looked at his wing, "This exhibit is mostly 'wounded' Homoavians, or as you call us 'bird-people'."
"But- there's nothing wrong with me!" I shouted.
"No, it doesn't seem so." He said, "And that's what is so puzzling."
"Also, why are your clothes so strange?"
"The scientists think they make us look more 'wild'. You're wearing them too."
I looked down to see myself wearing a dress made with the same material as the boy's pants, except more decorative, sprinkled with colorful feathers.
"Okay," I said, "So I'm in a zoo, surrounded by, no offense, strangers, and wearing a dress that looks like it was made by a five-year-old."
"Pretty much."
"Okay. What's your name?"
"Wing. Yours?"
"shadow. I'm shadow."

It's full of angels...
I'm going to draw it.

OMK Mexi said imcg, possibly as in "I'm computer-generated"! She's self-aware! Maybe!

"Oh, and stop by the HSAP enclosure on your way back to the base, will you?" Headmistress Rigga asks over the radio.
I grimace. "You know they hate me."
She clears her throat. "And why is that?"
I roll my eyes. "You know why."
"Look, just because you are like them doesn't mean you are as worthless as them. Why do you think you've been kept here the entire time?"
"Yes, I know," I reply. "But that's why. I'm not in the enclosure like them...it's almost like I'm betraying them."
"You're going."
I turn off the radio and fly out the door, heading to the HSAP base.
When I arrive, I walk swiftly down the hallways and finally stop at the entrance to the overhead balcony. I take a deep breath and open the door.
I walk in and tuck in my wings behind me. The captain comes up and nods.
"We had a new arrival."
"Who?" I ask.
He hands me the file and I look at it, gasping to myself.
What is a Resistance leader doing here?
I look overhead the balcony where the prisoners have gathered around Shadow.
I clear my throat and they all look up and glare at me.
There Shadow stands in the center looking confused.

My radio beeps.
"Yes?"
"shadow is gone. We can't find her. Come to the northern edge of the forest. Quick." Mina's voice crackles through the speaker. My stomach fills with ice. First a missing captive, now a missing comrade.
Rushing out of the base, I hop onto one of my giant greyhounds and we head into the forest. We continue for a while, then finally stop in glade. Mina stands in the middle of it, Trillian crouched down, inspecting something.
I hop off and join them. They were standing around tire tracks that lead into the forest.
"This was where her GPS last transmitted. It looks like there was a scuffle, then finally they left." Trillian stands up as she says this.
"We have to follow her," I say. "Get the bloodhounds and any form of tracker you can."

You are wasting your time. You should focus on C atastrophe, not a little girl. After all, how many soldiers die in war? Hundreds. Why is she special?
(December 30, 2016 - 3:01 pm)
can death even die? Shadow's death, right?
(December 30, 2016 - 4:47 pm)
shadow is the Angel of Death. She controls who can die and who can't. Not who does die, just whether or not it's possible for a person to die. I believe she has some relation to the incarnation of death. That's why she's so special, on top of which she's nice and smart and fights well and is a Resistance leader, and more. She's nowhere near just another soldier. Also, no, she can't die unless she wants to.

You trust you rebelion in the hands of teenagers, and this is bound to happen.
(December 30, 2016 - 8:05 pm)
You know, I think we should just stop talking to this man. Didn't he recently offer up all his services to Catastrophe?
(December 31, 2016 - 7:56 am)
Yes.
(January 2, 2017 - 1:24 pm)
"Rieux." I say
All of the others turn.
They start murmering things under their breath or to each other.
she turned us in
she killed him
she's the traitor
Wing runs over to her and takes a sharpened peice of stone out of his pocket, holding it in front of him like a knife.
This isn't going to end well.
