The FloodSpread RP

The Flood. It's been moving. We animals have been scurrying through, trying to save everything we can. Our histories, ancient artifacts and monuments, our belongings. But the Flood spreads everywhere. It spreads untill it reaches Bog & Burrow, and then I know we're in trouble.

Rain pours down. Water rises and starts pouring down the Bog & Burrow chute. A few animals scramble out, trying to get their footing in the dark, slick, deep mud. I extend a paw to one. "Artemis!" I realize. Artemis the red fox. The oldest and wisest fox ever (no, she is not a charecter. I just write about her.). She's using her claws to hold a bunch of bark with writing on it.

"Artemis!?" I say again. "Yes, Eliyana Fur Pawprint, I'm here." She says, yanking her bark away from the water. She slips in the mud, and some of her bark was scattered. She shrieks and darts towards it. I reach to pick up one in my claws and realise...huh?

Artemis snatches it from me. "You'll learn about that soon, Claw-Fang." I roll my eyes. "Let me guess. This is about me being trained by Claaws and somehow intercepting a bit of Ecio's magic." "Yes, Eliyana Fur Pawprint The ClawFang!" She croaks, thrusting her claw towards me. "And now is not the time, as we're in the middle of a flood!" She adds. I roll my eyes. "Please. Just call me Eli-" which by the way is said as Ellie. "-and get out of here." I growl. (I'm an Artic Fox, so I can growl a tiny bit)

I've never revealed where I live...so here goes....

~Icicle (aka Icy!)

I live in a tree. A big, hollow one, much like where I live at Capn'O. It has two rooms, each about 6 feetses tall, and a vine and stick ladder to get around, although I don't really need it. I'm a good climber.

But, the flood is coming to Deep Forest. And I'm in trouble. Water is pouring into the forest... Luckily, the entrance to my home is about 7 feetses (that's what the other humans call it, right? I don't know. Like I said, I was raised by animals.) off the ground, so I should be safe for now. But watching the grass become...well...water...is shocking.

OW! WHO PUNCHED ME!!?? I feel like I just got punched in the gut!! I hear the voice of a woman speak in my head. "Ayearth, is anything wrong?" "Ayearth! What's going on!?" Ayearth...that's the Sea Serpent's name... "Xiaou!?"

Ouch. That hurt.

~Eli (said as Ellie)

I claw at the tree. I never was good at climbing.... I get upset and down the tree in one single swipe of a claw. Whoa. I've never done that before...but maybe I could do a dugout and make a canoe? I have to try, I guess.

The water rises as I make my first cut. "Help!" A rabbit screams. I sigh and speak in a low, gravelly voice. "The flood will rise quickly. You'd best make a raft. I know you have a family of four in your rabbit-hole. That hole will get covered with water and they'll drown if you don't save them now. When I'm done with my raft, you can get in it. Now go."

She darts away, shivering. I sigh. The flood is expanding. And expanding.

Hey! I have an idea! Since SailHaven floats, I could take refugees there. And since I have a fleet of airships, that would work out fine. Sound good?

I myself refuse. I will not take help from Humans or anything that looks like a Human. But you'll have to see about the rest of the animals.

I live in the white birch just south of the apple grove.  In a hollow set in the upper canopy,  I carpeted it in moss, and somehow got a few wildflowers to grow in there.   Then there's the painted walls, which mostly depict the maps from kyndom.   I have a large store of berries contained in a straw basket I found by the river that runs at the foot of the birch,  its home and I can't bear the thought of losing it to a flood.   The water's only a few feet high but still, the churning mud brown water complete with foam is just disgusting.   I sigh and go back into the darkness of my hollow, lighting a tiny candle and placing it on top of a natural wooden shelf.  I'm about to go to sleep when I hear rain.   Rain?  But the flood was caused by the megathorium destroying half the labarynth and disrupting an underground river.   There isn't a cloud in the sky and yet rain is coming down in bucketfulls.  I pear outside my hollow, the water is rising fast.

I sprint to my den trying to gather everything."Mom Dad we need to leave now the flood is spreading. Take the cubs as far away as you can and don't get caught by Humans!" I yell frantically. We start gathering all of our stuff. Then I stop.

"Where's Orion?" I ask.

"He's out hunting," Dad says.

"What!?!!?!" I scream. "Dad why did you let him?! Where is he hunting? I need to go find him. The flood is almost upon us!"

"He was heading towards the East Fields, his favorite hunting place," Dad says.

Icy gasped as she stared at the torrent of water, rushing beneath her, with it’s gurgles and roars. “This would be a great place to find the Power of Fin…” she thought out loud.

“Power of fin?” an old robin said, looking at her from its perch on a branch of a tree. Her tree. “Excuse me, but this is my home. Would you please get out?” Icy said politely. “But Icicle-girl, you were talking about the Power of Fin!” Icy rolled her eyes. “No, I wasn’t. You didn’t hear that,” Icy commanded. The robin cackled, saliva flying out of her beak. How do robins have saliva? They don’t have tongues.

“Sweetheart, I named you Icicle Soul. I named you for your cold heart. Now, Icicle-girl, tell me what’s going on!” the robin cackled. Icy swallowed. “No!” she said boldly, summoning her courage. The robin swooped towards her. “Sweetheart, I know how weak you are. You can’t swim….I could easily..” the robin said. Icy finally remembered the Robin’s name. It had been mentioned to her when she asked why she was Icicle.

“Du-Froid,” Icy said. Du-Froid meant something, she just forgot what it meant.. “Yes!” the Old Robin cackled. “Now tell me!” Icy played it cool. “Don’t you have any nicknames?” Icy said in a simpering, sweet voice. The Robin was not impressed. “I mean, even me, a simple human blessed with the gift to have been raised by animals, has a nickname,” Icy said, pouring emotion into her voice, making it seem taunting, like ‘Wow, an old Robin such as yourself’. Wait, that was a good idea! “Wow, an old, wise Robin such as yourself doesn’t have one?”

“Espionner,” she snapped. “What does it mean?” Icy asked, leading her in conversation. Du-Froid had one weakness, and it was well known. She loved French tea parties, and could be led away….in…. Well, you’ll see. “It means...uh….The Spinner. I eat a lot of spiders. Now tell me what you were talking about or I’ll shove you in!” the Robin said. “Where did you get that nickname?” Icy asked. “I want to know before you push me in,” she added.

“At a French tea party,” Du-Froid said. Then she suddenly cackled. “I have a new nickname for you, besides Icy. It’s a proper name for you-Grossier,” she said, cackling and cackling so she doubled over. “We should have some tea,” Icy said in the most polite manner possible. Du-Froid brightened. She had forgotten about shoving Icy in.

~~~
Later…..
“Ah, yes, I’m as old as Artemis…” Du-Froid rattled on. “We had a good few chats, too! Quite fun, actually!” Icy grinned. Now was her time. “Sooo, did Artemis ever mention anything about...the Powers?” Icy asked. Du-Froid cocked her head and smiled. “No.” The word cut into her like a knife. No!? “But she did mention things about the Powerfriend.” YES!
I bolt to the meadows."Orion where are you?! I call frantically.The flood was coming and it was coming quick."Over here"Orion called.I race over to him he was by a creek."Where have you been the flood is apon us we might not make it out alive! "What!" Orion exclaimed."Yes you little hunter!" I scream back.
We race to the east as fast as we can, the steady roar of water coming closer by the minute...
