SailHaven

(I will do an explaination, then people can add to the story.)

SailHaven is my home city. It is a floating city, with a network of tunnels, allowing crime syndicates to evolve. The scientists there mostly develop implants, like blades in arms, or wearable tech, like monicles with lenses for seeing in the dark and stuff like that. I got exiled after creating blades that could be installed in arms, but they worked like a cat's claws, and could be hidden completely. After several assassinations, they had to punish me for making them.

The ground rumbles, shakes, then drops beneath our feet. I fall to the ground, hitting my leg hard. I manage to get up. The ground it slipping and sliding. SailHaven is falling.

I run into the courtyard and whistle. One of my Falcons drops down and I climb on. I see Trillian on the ground. She looks unconcious.

My bird grabs her with its talons and takes flight.

We soar over the fastly sinking SailHaven. The city is burning and in ruins. Scions are flying overhead and swarming the capitol. With a giant crash that shakes the earth, SailHaven hits the ground.

is this what was supposed to happen?

I whistle, but this time no birds come out of the sky. The noise was to great to hear me.

Sail Haven continues to sink below us. The ground rumbles and huge chasms rip open. I stand there, watching my home crumble before me.

I am brought from my stupor by scions. They flood into the  courtyard and begin wreaking havoc. I switch my arm to aether blade and charge.

this is REALLY REALLY BAD!!! sailhaven is literally falling out of the sky, it is overrun with scions, and elliot is still unconcious in the hospital. i slash my way through scions and get to sprocket. "we need to get out of here NOW!!!" she nods and we hop onto one of her eagles. we fly up into the air (grabbing kimilene on the way) just as sailhaven hits kyngdom. the moment it impacts to the ground the scions retreat. their work is done.  the streets are in chaos, there are many wounded and almost as many dead. we needed to wake elliot up. he was the only one that could restore order.  i jump off of the eagles back and glide to a stop in front of the ruined hospital. we run inside through the deserted corridors and into the room where elliot was. one wall had been caved in and elliot was on the floor. we go over to him and i take out the endstone. "i hope this works..." i take it and run it over his arms and chest. he chokes and his eyes flutter open. i sag in relief. the stone could not heal wounds that it made but it was able to wake someone up, no matter how asleep they seemed. he was about to speak when i said "no, dont talk, just listen. sailhaven has fallen to earth. octavia is gone for now but you need to get everyone back in order, and quickly. i dont think octavia will be gone for long." sprocket and kimilene nod in agreement. "you need to be careful though" said kimilene. "those burns are just as bad as they were before"

ok, have to go, will write soon.

I stand apart as Trillian wakes up Elliot. I am still in shock about SailHaven falling. It all seems unreal, and yet I know that it is. SailHaven had been my home since I was small, and the winding maze of streets and alleyways had become my place of solace. Now that was all gone.

The king has brought this about...you are foolish to remain on the side that you don't belong...your parents would cry over your unfaithfullness...they are dead because of the king...you belong with us...The voice penetrated my head, filling me with its words. I gasped and clutched my head. Elliot, Kiminlee, and Trillian look at me. I mumble something about migranes and look down at my feet. They continue talking.

What was that voice talking about? Was Elliot really the reason that  I was an orphan? Did that mean that I was on the wrong side?

I wake up with a start. My blades extend and my eyes flash red.

"Monsters!" I yell. Around me, a haze forms.

SailHaven hits the ground. Glass shatters. I throw the neerest wall down, and fly out.

elliot bolts out of the hole that was in the wall, i dont pursue. i dont need to after all. he collapses against the ground two feet away ghasping in pain. we get him back into the bed and i look for sprocket. she said that she had a migrane. i was worried, i had had a migrane once before and knew that the curling nausia and pain could be too much to handle if it got bad.

hi, this is the author, im serious about the migrane thing. i have gotten them and they are not to be laughed at.

i walk out into the hall and see sprocket muttering to herself about her parents. i walk up. "are you ok?"

I look up. Trillion is staring at me, puzzled. I nodded and tried to smile, but all that came out was a tense grimace. I wasn't Ok, but I couldn't tell anyone. I couldn't tell them that Octavia had broken into my head was talking to me. I couldn't tell them about my doubt of being on the wrong side. I definitely couldn't tell them about my parents. So I nodded and said everything was OK.

Kimilene~

I noticed Trillian and Sprocket talking quietly, before Trillian came back in the room. She looked doubtful.

"What's up?" I muttered.

"Sprocket seems....not okay." Was all she said. Curious now, I exited the room silently and walked up to Sprocket.

"Everything okay?" I asked awkwardly. She nodded absentmindedly.

"Sprocket..." I sighed softly. "We are just worried, is all. If there's something wrong, I'm sure we can help?"

She shook her head. "You cant....everything's fine, ok?" She sounded defensive and I scolded myself for being so rash with my words.

"Okay." I said, my hand falling from her shoulder. "Just, remember."

"We're your friends."

I sigh. Now I was really a mess. I couldn'the talk to anyone, yet they all talked to me in hushed tones. My problems were small compared to the war, right? No one cared that I was hearing voices. It was all in my head.

I walk into the courtyard to get some fresh air. Yet there is none. The sky is full of ash and soot. The scions have left, but the city is still in panic.

You are being more stubborn than we thought. Perhaps we need to show you something to prude you.. I gasp. I only have time to register what the voice says and then I black out.

i walk back into Elliot's room. Kimilene askew me how sprocket was doing. I really don't know. I'm worried about her. Elliot has fallen back asleep and I told kimilene to stay with him. I follow sprocket out into the courtyard and see her standing completely still... Then she gasps in pain and collapsed to the ground. I run over to her and she started twitching. Suddenly...

Ok sprocket, I don't know what happens next so your turn.

I run through the hallways, chased by my dad. I am screaming and laughing, and he is roaring like  a pretend monster. He picks my 4 year old self up and tickles my stomach with his mouth, pretending he is eating me. I scream peals of laughter, and my mom comes in, a smile on her face. The happiness inside the room was like a balloon that filled me up from the inside.

Then a pounding knock on the door sounded out through the house. My dad went and answered it and we heard the murmur of voices. Then they stopped. We heard a thump of something heavy hit the groud, and then footsteps coming toward us.

My mom hugs me and leaves the room to see what is happening. The footsteps stop and I hear my mom scream, followed by another thud. A person walks through the door with a mask on their face. They have blades that look like cat claws extended from their arms.

I scream and run towards the window. The person follows me, but I dodge out of their way and escape out of the window onto the street.

I wake up with a gasp, my heart pounding. My head hurts, and I am lying on the ground in the courtyard. My breath comes in short gasps, like I had just run away from the person with the blades. That was the first time I had dreamed about my parents assasination since I was six.

ps. Elliot I don't think this is supposed to be you. It can be you though if you want it to be. I think it is just someone who used your blades.

Oh. My. Potato.

Kimilene~

I nodded and Trillian exited the room. I hear a thud from outside in the hall. Itsounded like a body, crashing into the floor. I shift uncomfortably, but don't.move. (sorry for all the odd spellings and periods, cricket has a glitch on mobile devices where sometimes your words run off the page and it's likeyou aren't typing...)

Would it be too late to join this story? And if not, can someone give me a basic outline of what has happened so far, please?

I walk into the room where Trillian and Kimilene are. They stare at my for a second, then Trillian speaks. "Are you alright? You look really pale." I look down and realize that my hands are shaking. The image of the man with the blades keeps playing through my head. I had promised myself nine years ago that I would block that out, that I would stop having those nightmares.

I try to smile but it doesn't work. "Sorry, I just blacked out there for a moment. The stress must be getting to me." They look at me warily, and I can tell that they don't believe me.
