Finding the Gryphons

One thing I know for sure, if I can't help people demolish B.I.G., I will help avenge the Gryphons.

What could have happened? It has only been 2 nights, starting with my father missing, human foorprints, and my past awakening.*

I fly through the forest, careful not to awaken anyone else. Who knows the different creatures at this part of the forest. But I can no longer go on. I would not have been this weak and tired if I had not fought with that owl. It looked at me at the inn, and it menacingly spurred threats and insults about gryphons from its wicked beak. I couldn't take it anymore! I clawed at that vile creature, and its friends joined in. I burst out the wood door as the owl screeched, "AND DON'T COME BACK!"

I felt something wet, cold, and small trickling down my cheek. Was I crying? No, I could't. I shouldn't. Father used to always say, "Gryphons don't cry, my child." So where was my father now? Where was my mother? Where was my sister? I asked these things often to myself as I flew through the air. Suddenley, my wings gave up. I found myself tumbling down into the canopy of trees, making a dark green blanket over the forest. It is dangerous for a pup to be out at this time of night, especially with predetors lurking at every corner and curve of the forest. I was scared, and I started wimpering. But I caught myself. I was a Gryphon. 

And Gryphons don't cry.
