APPEARANCE: Tall for his age (13), average build, curly dark brown hair always needs a haircut (except right after he gets one)
PERSONALITY: Never the first to speak up, but always the first to notice something
HOME: His parents' house, which his mom likes to say has the most natural light of any underground bunker in Sprocketville, thanks to its many skylights
MOST OFTEN SEEN AT: The machinist wing of the Cypher Labs dormitory, where he lives on a hall with the other gear-nerds. Needless to say it's not the cleanest wing in the building.
FRIEND OR MENTOR: Dr. Sheepshank was the first adult he felt really took him seriously.
ENEMY OR RIVAL: Marcus R., the best machinist at Cypher--and a full year younger than Charlie.
FAVORITE POSSESSION OR OBJECT: His titanium sprocket wrench set, a 13th birthday gift from Dr. Sheepshank.
MOTTO OR FAVORITE SAYING: Er, did you try hitting it with a hammer?
STRENGTHS: Inventiveness--at age 8, he built a working dishwasher from scratch.
WEAKNESSES: Confidence--he has trouble standing up for himself sometimes.
BACKGROUND: Charlie grew up in Sprocketville, a small bunker town in Southwest Kyngdom. He was lonely there, since there weren't many other kids around--but that gave him plenty of time to tinker with the smashed-up machines that lined all the roads in town. After he built an entirely new set of household appliances from scratch, word spread across Kyngdom. Eventually, Dr. Sheepshank recruited him to be part of the Cypher Labs team. His parents were sad to see him go, but he didn't think twice: this was his big break.

The angry girl stormed back to her dorm. She then sat down on the bed and started sobbing. Why did all these things happen to her? Was she cursed? Yes, that was it. Cursed. "Ly, come here, tell me what's wrong, my Ly". She looked up. Ly? That was what her mother used to call her. She turned to where she heard her mother. There she was, beautiful and kind... everything she was before. The girl turned away. It couldn't be her mother. Her mother had been dead for eight years. Great. Just great. Now she was seeing things. She would have to get her eyes checked, then probably get glasses... It was just too bad to think about. "Ly..."

SILVER'S STORY
Silver's only memory of home was from she was very young, only about three. She remembers a lady who turned out to be Hornshaw coming to the door and having her parents sign some INSTITUTE RECRUITMENT papers. She remembers crying next to her mother. She remembers her mother asking her if she wanted to leave and go to school. She remembers that that day was the day she said her first word, no. She is sure glad she said that. She also says that on that day she first communed with the spirits. She claims they warned her of the days to come, that the days would turn dark and she would lose. And they were right. The next day her father went on an early morning swim. He never came back. The next day there was a hurricane. Her house and possessions were destroyed. Then her mother got cancer. A few days was all it took for her to go. She was then chased by Hornshaw and her crew right into a fire. She still has the burns to prove it. That's where Dr.Sheepshank found her the next day. Cold, burned, an orphan. He took her in and... That's it. Silver's memories were gone. Dr. Sheepshank, Silver, and some others have been trying to unlock her memories for years. She can only remember this. She is not even sure if her name is Silver. And the reason you now know this is because Silver has been kidnapped by an unknown murderer. Only we can help her. Before she was taken she told me in code, "Help the resistance if I'm gone."

Strengths:Cass is unsentimental, so he is able to get over things quickly.
Weaknesses:Cass doesn't trust anyone, so if he's in danger, he probably won't have many people trying to help him.
Background: Cass was left at an orphanage as a baby. When he was 6 years old, he ran away, and started robbing to make a living and to stay alive. When he was ten years old, he met Aly. Since then, they've helped each other stay alive.

Job/Title: Traveling mercenary/adventurer
Appearance: Squirrel anthro with brown-gray fur, about the height of a short human, giant bushy tail (obviously), dark brown eyes, wears only a short tunic and belt to hold weapons and pouches of supplies.
Personality: Bold, confident, and tough, but lacks drive when not on a job.
Home: She has several dreys scattered across Kyngdom.
Most Often Seen At: Looking for or carrying out a job or adventure.
Friend or Mentor: None currently, soon to be Alexander R.
Enemy or Rival: Catastrophe, the SOCS, and anyone who gets in her way.
Favorite Possession or Object: She's not particularly attached to any of her few belongings.
Motto or Favorite Saying: There's no nut without a shell, or some other metaphor involving a nut. She likes nuts.

Background: She doesn't know or remember much about her parents, but she was raised in Northern Kyngdom by someone she calls "uncle". Uncle taught her how to fight, and she developed her own skills and techniques with his guidance. She ages like a human and left Uncle to start adventuring and mercenary-ing when she was about 18. She's spent the last few years wandering around looking for work and adventure and making well-supplied hideouts.
