Hello, I'm Kasumi Hayashi, a Japanese marten. Little Crow's Aunt Zephyra told us about a mysterious badger in her letter (see here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom/node/205824) and the purpose of this thread is to find that badger and find out more about the Power of Claw and any other Powers that the badger knows of. All the clues we have are that the badger lives in a grassland and that we need to follow the line of petrified (stone) trees until we reach the final and biggest one. Groups are as it follows:
GROUP 1: Sentries. These animals (preferably strong animals with sharp senses) bring up the tail of the search party. They look out for potential danger and take shifts guarding the camp where we set up to rest.
GROUP 2: Scouts. These animals (preferably flying and fast-footed animals) fly ahead to look for trails, petrified trees, grassland, and danger that the Sentries don't see. I'll be the Captain of this group.
GROUP 3: Carriers. These animals (Preferably big animals like horses) carry supplies and necessities.
GROUP 4: Moral support. Basically any animals who want to come along but don't fit the requirements for the other groups.
This will be a fairly small mission- fifteen animals or less and at least three (including Captain) in each group. We'll start the mission when the groups are filled.

Am I the only one who noticed that on the back page of Cricket, if you decode the message on the little slab of paper that is peeled away to reveal the animal's eyes (in at least the April 2016 one, I don't know about the previous one), it says "Dig below the stone tree"?

I don't think you are the only person (I decoded it, and I have seen mention of that message elsewhere), but good job and thank you for letting us know! If you find any more messages, be sure to spread the news!

As a bird, especially one with my training, I believe that I would do best as a Scout, but I could also just join for moral support, if Scouts are full. When and where will this mission be taking place?

The line of petrified trees is in the grassland. The stone tree from the code is diffrent i think. The stone tree in the code had some words not in code that said keep an eye on the scientists. The scientists are probably going to have a meeting there or something. This thing about petrified trees and stone trees is making me very confused!

Actualy, It always says keep an eye on the sientist. theres a Badger living under the stone tree that is the gardian of the power of claw.
