First or third?
When writing stories, do you prefer to use first person or thrid person? I usually like first person, but if I have a story with a lot of main characters I use third.

I don't know. I like third person better most of the time, actually. The real question for me are the different types of third person.

I like third person better because you're not confined in a single person's POV.

I usually (almost always) write in third person limited myself. I hatehatehate third person omniscient, mostly because of bad fanfic (in which it is so pervasive that the two have practically become synonymous). First person usually bugs me, because people do not think that way, and on the rare occasion that I write in first person it takes the form of direct stream of conscious and comes off sounding pretty insane because I tend to think in non-sequiturs (and in third person, but that's neither here nor there).

I like using first person rotating points of view, then usually end up writing in third person, but focusing on one person and their thoughts.

Well, for RP's I like first person, but usually I write third person when I write books. It's easier that way for me for some reason.

It depends on the story.

It really depends on the story.

I wrote my first book in third, but mostly I've been writing in first, recently. I feel like it helps me stay on track and not go into big describing things. Although, first does have it's limitations. I always think it would be fun to write a book where the chapters rotate between first, second and third person.
