Well, if I were you, I'd go with something really special for the king.  Hmm... you could do a google search about names, I'm sure something would come up!!  Good luck!! :)

I found some, here they are: Cordilla, Marina, Meredith, Nerin, Nerissa, Ervin, Irvin, Merrik, Morven, and Zale. I think I'll change the queen's name to Nerin, what do you think?

I think that Nerin is a good name. For other merpeople, (out of the names you chose) Nerissa, Merrik, Zale. Other names- Cassie, Ginger, Maura, Clio. Names that mean ocean, sea, or water- Dora (gift of the ocean), Dylan (son of the sea), Issa (of the sea), Mariah (sea of sorrow). Hope this helps!:)

Here are some others I found in my search, that may or may not be helpful -

Name/Meaning:

Morina/mermaid

Rusalka/mermaid

Cordelia/sea jewel

Moana/ocean

Thalassa/sea,ocean

Andros/god of the sea

Lamar/ocean

Hai/sea

Aalam/king

Some are strange, but others may be helpful. Good luck!

I think you should chang the Queen's name to Merina, because it kind of sounds like aquamarine.  Or you could name her Aqua.

I think that you should come up with a title after you finish it or you finish the plot.

I think you should name him (the king) Zale.  Or maybe Hugo.

King Hugo sounds good. I also like King Dayne (or Dane). Some other good merpeople names would be Lila and Jade (for girls) and Landry and Jasper (for boys).  :)

Sorry, I don't really like the name Hugo for the king, but that could be because in third grade, I was really into writing this horrible comic strip about Hugo the giant squid. Wait--no, it was Humungo! Humungo... wow, that strip was even more horrible than I thought! It was pretty fun for a third grader to write, though. Never mind! ( But I still can't say I like Hugo that much.)Laughing
