Ok.. I just

Ok.. I just wrote this because it came into my head so yeah.. I'm kind of Shy about what I write so.. Well I'm just wondering if you guys can give me some tips!

I ran down the alley. Where was I? I must have taken a wrong turn. The cold rain fell onto my face as darkness engulfed me. How long had I been running? I shouldn't have followed Matthew then.. then.. My tears mixed with the rain on my face. I sat next to a fire escape near one of the buildings. I sat there with my head in my hands for 5 minutes. What was that?! A figure stood at the end of the alley. It was him. What should I do? There was only one way out of the alley. How long would it take me to get to the end? There was no time to figure this out. I got up with one intention. RUN

@ Vida I just kind of wrote it.. I'm not sure if it's a prolougue so I didn't post it in the prolougue thingy. What is a prologue?

@ Charlotte Yeah, I know sometimes I put like 10 periods... It really depends. It's very seldom when I actually put 3! :)

A prologue is "a separate introductory section of a literary or musical work". Basically, introducing the story. Go to the prologue thread to read some examples (coughminecough).

Also, re: Periods: It is only ever correct to use one period. There is also something called an ellipses, which looks like three dots in a row and is intended to indicate either the omission of words, trailing off at the end of a sentence, or (occasionally) a pause.
