Chatterbox: Inkwell
I'm trying to write science fiction (when I have never before) and this is the result...oh no, this is going to be a mess...hope you like it!

The sharp scent of smoke is lingering in my nose as I jerk awake. My mind is blank for a second as my eyes adjust to the blank room I woke up in. My face twists into scowl of disgust as I look around the speck of a room around me. Specifically the security cam in the far right corner pointed in my direction.
Oh right.
The memories of last night come flooding in and I suddenly remember why I'm here. Correction; back here. I have been running from this place for so long, trying to forget it, and now I'm right back where I started. In this very room, scowling at the cam with the word Lapis in blue letters printed in a font that's supposed to intimidate and look trustworthy at the same time. Unfortunately, I know better then to be affected by simple marketing tricks, or any tricks Lapis thinks they're playing.
The sound of plastic scraping metal snaps me out of my thoughts as I jump up from the floor. My thighs and back are sore, but I don't care, I've slept in worse places.
The door slides opens revealing a red faced man with limbs like tree trunks and a impossibly large lion blade, named after an Old World creature which it can famously kill, strapped to his waist. I almost feel complimented. I mean, Lapis thought I was so dangerous that I needed this kind of escort? Because I already know what's going to happen, this guy's going to bring me to Taarowson and she's not going to be happy. She's going to be a human inferno. I smirk just thinking of the possibilities.
"What are smiling at, girl" The escort barks. I don't flinch, instead my smirk grows.
"Nothing, nothing at all..." I trial off, leaving an infuriating silence in my wake as I push past him. You could say I know how to annoy people, or you could say this guy is easy to annoy. Either way, it work out as I thought it would. I left him thinking, took him off guard for a little moment. Gave me an opening that lasted only a few seconds. Good thing I'm a fast thinker and even faster acter. Good thing I'm no normal human, I'm an genetically engineered human with a cocktail of avian genes that allow me to think, see, even act better then the average human. I can't believe Lapis was this stupid, they create 'better' humans to work for them and don't expect those people to turn on them?
Well I'm headed for Taarowson right now, and am about to sake things up. Real bad. I'm going to offer something she can't refuse.
And then disappear into thin air.

ooh this story is captivating! I've written sci-fi once (or twice) before, and it's pretty fun!
