Chatterbox: Inkwell

beginnings 

recently i haven't really been able to write full stories but i really enjoy writing short stories or beginnings of them so i'll put one of them here. feel free to put any of your story beginnings/short stories here too :]

this one's a little strange and it's the result of me being bored and writing the first thing that comes to mind. the end is also weird just because it doesn't really have a conclusion. that's what i do with these beginning story things. once it gets hard to write, i start a new one. anyways, enjoy! or don't. it's up to you

"road safety rabbit"

The car whipped around the corner at breakneck speed, almost decapitating a nearby six-foot-tall rabbit. in its anger, the rabbit grew to its full height of thirteen and a half feet and hopped after the car, which was still speeding towards its destination at a speed that was far from legal. However, although the car was fast, the rabbit was faster. It quickly caught up with the speeding car.

“Never drive above the speed limit,” it rasped, its tortured voice like stone against stone. 

“My apologies,” the driver replied, slowing to a more reasonable pace. 

The rabbit shrunk to its regular, six-foot size and smiled, although a threat was still visible in its dark eyes. “Thank you,” it said. “Remember to always follow road safety rules, unless you want your eyes crushed and your teeth shattered.” Its smile widened into a grin, exposing blood-stained, razor-sharp teeth. Then, as if some spell was broken, all malice vanished from its eyes and, for a moment, it almost looked like a regular rabbit. “Good day,” it said pleasantly before sinking into its portable rabbit hole, still never breaking eye contact.

The driver shook its head and began driving fast again. “That them there darn road safety rabbits,” it muttered, shaking its head.
