Okay, so yall know that Nano is coming up in like *counts on fingers* three days. I am sure that everybody is going to have their problems. I am also sure that there are threads about this on the actual website. And also this is my first time so I have no experiance to help you guys. I hope that some Nano survivor will come and take over this thread. In the meantime I will try to help you, you will try to help me, and we will all help each other help each other. For now I am so excited I am chattering about Nanowrimo to any random person who will listen (and sometimes those who won't). This will include friends, family, random passersby on the street, objects on the table, my dinner and random whatnot and whathaveyou in my life.

*headdesk* My family has trouble with this concept. NA. National. NO. Novel. WRI. Writing. MO. Month. NaNoWriMo. National Novel Writing Month. And hey presto, t's only four syllables.
But yes. I am *very* excited. Of course, this's my first time too, so I'm only going to be pathetically unhelpful... ... ;)
And oh yeah, I'm doing that yammering-to-people-who-don't-wanna-listen thing either. So's Gianna. Scribbling in her NaNo notebook during English class... ;)

Mom and Daddy are finally getting it coming into the third year... Give it time, m'dear.
Trouble is I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on Monday, so... bonus: I'll get to write in the car. On the other hand... I'll have three gaping holes in my mouth for the rest of the month. Foo.

@ TNO (umlaut): Well, my mother thinks the people on the forums are "death-obsessed" and she doesn't want me "associating" with them... (That's okay, though, the forums sorta intimidate me anyway.)
@ Katie: Aww, don't feel bad, my friend Meg is most likely going to write "once upon a time" and then wander off to find a hair tie and never come back... ;)

I think she meant there was a lot of stragegizing about death scenes, and undead characters (zombies, vampires, ghosts...), and Necromancy-related conversations, and
"dark" stuff like that (weapons, villains, etc). I'm also guessing, though she didn't mention this, that she noticed some of the swearing/"adult" content on there and didn't want me exposed to it...
The only thing I really use the forums for is character development exercises, though. Because, I mean, that site is so... big...

Well you could make something bad happen and then they will be there at the scene of the crime? I dunno since my details about your novel are a little vague.

At this point I've got a tad over 2k. My friends are coming over today for our own little "kickoff party"... We didn't want to go to the big regional one with all the adults and stuff. ;)
Helena's personality is alternately horribly snarky and amazingly sweet at the present time. I think I'll have to give her bipolar disorder to account for the fact that I am too incompetent to give her a full-time personality.

Basically, Count du Slomen assassinates the king and takes the crown, exiling the princesses Kay and Morgan in the process. They flee to the permanent mists that border the country and Fate makes some cliche-fantasy prophecy about them, which obviously doesn't make Chaos very happy so she sets out to subvert him... And Mort Rebsen is doing something but I'm not entirely sure what.
