Auzrivlia RP
AUZRIVLIA: ROLE PLAY
Well,
I am starting a role-play, finally!
Auzrivlia is a story I've been working on for some time, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and it's a wee bit too similiar to some of my other stories, so I figure I'll put it out on the CB and see what happens. No-one has to join, I just figured I'd try it out...
Okay then!
Auzrivlia is a city made of gems and enclosed by a magical mountain range, so no-one can get in. Long ago it was founded by two people, Gemani and Orion (yes, named after the constellations). Gemani accidentally woke an ancient spell which endowed all her descendents with magical powers, while Orion's descendants remained normal.
Back then, Auzrivlia was a place of welcome, with merchants and travelers coming in and out. But then an evil lord rose to power, overthrew the leaders, and closed Auzrivlia's borders. His descendants rule Auzrivlia today and use its power to take other countries.
Here are the descendants' possibe powers, but your character can be normal, too.
Manipulator--you can make anyone do what you want, but it takes a serious physical toll.
(Note: with all these elemental powers, you can semi-control the element--but only if it wants to listen.)
Watercurver--you can speak to water.
Firecurver--you can speak to fire.
Windcurver--you can speak to wind (although in this case it's called singing with the wind).
Earthcurver--you can speak to the earth, plants and stones especially.
Ethercurver--you can speak to the matter of the universe.
Animspeaker--you can speak to animals.
Emoreader--you can read emotions.
Telewave--you can hear thoughts.
Telekenetic--you can move things with your mind.
Futureseer--you can see the future.
Mage: you have all these powers.
Ok, that's it, but it's worth noting that, thought the characters don't know it yet, we should keep in mind that the rulers are lying and there is a way for "normal" people to have powers. I'm not actually sure what that way is yet. And mages are mysteriously vanishing…
One last thing: no-one knows if they have a power or not until they turn 13.
Please:
Be respectful of others in this roleplay.
Don't role-play overly with other people's characters, no more than is necessary for the story.
But, also, introduce twists! Fun things! Unexpected turns! Secrets! Keep things moving forward!
Of course, no-one has to join. But, as I said, this is just a fun experiment on my part!
Ok. Charrie sheet! You can be as detailed or brief as you like.

Ok! Here’s my character. There’s no limit to characters you can create so I’ll post a few more later.
Name: Audrun
Age (keep in mind that no-one has powers until they turn thirteen, and your character cannot be aged above 16): turning thirteen tomorrow when this role-play begins, which let’s say will be on the 16th of October or so.
Appearance: floppy brown-black hair; blue-green eyes; wears ragged clothing on purpose; pale skin
Personality: sometimes a little cocky, very brave; wishes he’d get a cool power
Backround: He grew up with a normal family, going to the regular school, and has a crush on Stephanie (a character I’ll post later)
Gender/pronouns: He/him
Power (no more than one per character, unless they’re a mage): Well, nothing yet, but he’s going to be a mage. Don’t tell him!
Strengths: Very brave and protective; also agile.
Flaws: Sometimes accidentally hurts people’s feelings
Other: n/a
Alright, as mentioned, this roleplay will begin on the 16th of October, assuming, of course, that my family doesn’t have any plans for then! We can also push it back to the 19th depending on how many people join—if any….:) :| ;-
I am also open to suggestions for improvement of RP quality.
Bye!

I had a flashlight, eyeblack, a hoodie, a fake badge, rope, and three hours of sleep after a night watching crime shows. I was all set.
It was early morning, the sun barely peeking over the pink horizon. Steve was late for work; I had shut off his alarm. He had an early shift that day. I peeked through a window and found Stever fast asleep on the couch. Potato chips were strewn about his living room, the TV was still on and a taco was in his lap. He appeared to be having a dream about kittens, as he was purring and scratching his "paws" at thin air.
I turned the handle as quietly as I possibly could. He had left his door unlocked, which wasn't the smartest move he ever made.
The house was pitch black, other than the glow of the TV, which I quickly shut off. I clicked on my flashlight. Steve meowed, but didn't wake up.
"Steve the Windcurver," I said in the deepest, growliest, most intimidating voice a fourteen-year-old girl could possibly muster. He opened his eyes just slightly and muttered something insulting, then sat up straight when he realized a stranger was in his house. "This is an interrogation. You are not to speak until told, in which case you will answer each question honestly and without hesitation. You will sit up straight and pay attention, and should be aware attempting to leave would be foolish." It was fun. I was really in character here, and enjoying every minute of it.
There was a wave of confusion and doubt, probably caused by the age the intruder seemed to be, but then fear took over. I sighed inwardly. I was in control of the situation.

sorry I haven't posted, but I was busy with the holidays
~Ruby~
I'm suprised they haven't noticed me yet. We arrived at the camp and I managed to get around unseen. That is, until we had to leave. I was forced to reveal myself. Let's just say, Master Vorti is NOT happy. this is what happened.
****************************************************************************
I'm probabley going to get myself KILLED! I thought. A quick emo scan told me people were suprised to see a new kid, but also wary of it. Probably not happy about having to change camps. Ok, here we go. Slowly I confrunted him. "So, uhhhh, hi. I'm Ruby and before you freak out, I'm a mage to." To emphsize my point I made a small willow tree grow with water circling it. Master Vorti was very startled because it looked like he had been lecturing a kid sbout something. So suprised that for a second I could read his mind. Another kid?! Are you kidding me?! Then it suddenly went dark and I assumed that he put his barrier up again. Eyeing me warly he asked," Do you have your ID with you?" "No! Those things are trackers for crying out loud! Who would bring their ID to a camp that's forrbiden?!" I exclaimed. "Finally! Someone who had the sense not to bring an ID! Unlike some people." he added glanceing at a group of kids. Seeming to tired to be mad he called over a girl named Matilda and told her to show me around. Then he remembered that we would be switching camps and I was some random mage. "Ok, here's the deal." he told me. "We are switching camps in half an hour and you need to join a group A.S.A.P.! You hear me?" "Yes sir." A tall girl with so many people around her she could have a paparizze giggled when I called him sir. Suprisingly his face sofened. "I'm Master Vorti, and welcome to camp." This is going to be interesting. I thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
sorry for backing up the RP but I wanted to post from Ruby's point of veiw before they moved camps. Also if the part about Master Vorti letting down his barrier isn't ok with you guys, ignore it.
I was very annoyed to see that the mage who'd been with us used his powers to rise into the air without a backward glance. he flew off up the stream.
Argh, fine, then. I'd rescue myself.
I flailed about and tried to keep a clear head about me. Ok, Haley, think, I told myself. It was hard to think when we were rushing straight towards a waterfall but I managed.
Ahead I could see a huge fallen tree, branches trailing in the river. Aha, I thought. I shall grab onto that.
Steohanie was being no help at all, clinging to our raft with her eyes tightly shut. I leaned forward, and saw to my horror that we were about to miss the tree!!!
I threw all my weight to the right. The raft twisted rapidly and tipped us into the water.
"HALEY!" Stephanie cried.
I grabbed her arm and kicked through the water. Reaching out, I managed to grab onto one of the tree's thock branches, and from there I climbed onto the tree.
"Oh," Stephanie said as I pulled her up. "Haley, you're a genius."
I shrugged and balanced on the branches, gazing out at the roaring brown water. "Stephanie, we need to get back to the camp."
She nodded distractedly.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
She shook her head. "I'm getting these weird vibes like Audrun's in danger...but I must be imagining it."
||Audrun||
Perhaps you have guessed--or perhaps not--that I ran into some government officials. Why they were out that late, I have no idea! I heard them say something about looking for a guy named Steve, I don't know. Anyway, I woke up in their car.
It was just starting to get light and the streets were quiet as we cruised along. I stared out the window, trying to remember what happened.
I was walking alone in the woods...stupidly.
These guys must've found me. I hadn't even heard them coming. I shook my head. The rain must've muffled the noise.
Speaking of rain, it was still pouring, drumming on the streets. I sat still and tried to think.
First, I tried reaching out to Crystal with my powers, but everything felt foggy. I wondered if I was just tired or if they'd done something to make it harder for me to use them. Next, I wondered if I should try to escape the old-fashioned way. I thought I could do it, but...
I shivered as a new idea occured to me.What if I stayed? Let myself get captured? Then I'd actually be inside the government's building--I could escape then and find out all their plans.
Yes, that's what I'll do!
I hoped that it would turn out the way it did in spy movies and wouldn't go horribly wrong.
||||||||||||||||||||||
Poor Audrun :(
Just kidding. I LOVE DOING THESE THINGS TO MY CHARACTERS.
On a different note my cat is chasing grasshoppers (failing to catach them) and it's hilarious!!!!!! He'll stop, stare,dash forwards, and LEAP--then he'll jump back with a stratld expression and stare into the sky. IT IS SO CUTE AND FUNNY AHHHH
I completely forgot about this RP actually for a while! I was so busy listening to a creepy podcast. Ooops!
||Crystal||
Well, these rafts are annoying. We have boarded and Haley and Stephanie have already fallen off. I will not be responsible for them. so I don't help them and leave them. I fall asleep on the raft.
#############################
When I wake up, we are at the camp. I am still on the raft, it's no longer raining, and the raft and ground is dry. I was obviously asleep for a while. Audrun is back, the camp is ready, and lessons have resumed already. WOW. I missed so much! Oh well.
soooooo I wasn't sure what to write, so I made it so Crystal fell asleep during Audrun coming back. So I guess write about what happened while she was asleep.
Hi everybody! here's the next part -- and by the way, Pancake, Audrun was captured by government officials, so i doubt he could be, you know, back. No offense.
||Audrun||
After hours of driving I saw a huge blob of light ahead. That must be the government’s building, bright and enormous at the center of the city. We braked to a halt and a window at the front rolled down.
“ID card, please,” said a robotic voice. A pause. “ID card recognized. Retina scan.” A light flashed. “SCAN COMPLETE. Welcome, Officer Wales. Connecting to OFFICE.” A plethora of beeps, followed by a cool female voice. “Yes, Officer Wales? What is your purpose in the city?”
“I found the escaped mage,” said a gruff voice from the front seat.
A pause. “The mage?” The voice sounded surprised. “Where?”
“Edge of Hazard Forest. He was all alone. Stupid.”
Another pause. “Well, if it’s really him, bring him straight to the office. The Governor will want to confirm it’s him and notify the Sovereigness,”
I perked up. Sovereigness? Who was that? Someone who ran the police?
“Ok. Got it. Wales out.” The car started up and drove on.
I discreetly rolled down my back window with my toe and stared out. I’d never seen the city. It was bright and sparkly. Everywhere I looked I saw lights and gems glinted off sparkling surfaces.
We drove for another half hour and finally braked to a halt. The officer shoved me into an elevator, then unclipped the handcuffs.
Ok, I thought. As soon as this elevator opens, I knock this guy out and bolt.
But it wasn’t meant to be.
The doors slid open, tipping us out right into the Governor’s office.
|||||||||||||||||||||||
||Haley||
Stephanie and I returned to the camp just as the last of the rafts was about to cross. Luckily, Voyti managed to lift us over.
Once on the other side I went to find Audrun but didn't see him anywhere. Those annoying girls were chattering, snickering, and pointing at Crystal who was asleep. but, unlike usual, Audrun wasn't with them...where could he be?
"Why are you looking for the mages?"
"To get paid!!!" Steve breathes nervously.
"Obviously," I roll my eyes. "But why are you paid to capture mages?"
"I dunno. I just bring 'em in."
"Have you ever 'brought one in?'"
"...Well, no," he says defensively. "Not technically. Not yet. But I haven't been on the force for awhile, you know, and those mages, they can do all magic. Real powerful, see. That's why they're a menace to society. Oh, and they're from Mars, did you know that?"
"...right. Now--"
At that moment, his walkie talkie crackled suddenly. "All guards: we have found the mage. Repeat: we have found the mage."
I gasped, and swore softly, when someone knocked on the door.
"Open up!" said the gruff-voiced man outside.
"Say 'just a minute' or I swear I will cut your throat out of your neck," I hissed.
"Um-- just a minute!" he called.
That's when the far older, far stronger, and far less stupid guard broke down Steve's front door.
"Young lady," he said, "you are under arrest."
NEXT PART
(Almost typed "next Oat" :) hahaha
Geez, poor Audrun. The things I do to my characters. :)
The Governor was just putting down the phone. He looked up. “That was Shelly at the entry office. She said you found the Mage.” His eyes fell on me, and his eyebrows rose. He seemed to be struck speechless.
I had never met the Governor although Haley and Stephanie had described him. I felt an instant hatred for him. It was inherent. He was short and balding, which normally would be endearing, but there was a coldness in his eyes that made me believe he wouldn’t hesitate to commit terrible acts without a thought. He radiated cruelty.
“Oh wonderful.” His voice had an oily, smooth quality to it, just like the surface of his desk. “Cassiopeia will be so pleased.”
“Cassiopeia?” Officer Wales and I asked simultaneously. Officer Wales looked unconcerned but my mind was racing. Cassiopeia was a constellation, of course. But the Governor had referred to “Cassiopeia” as if he were referring to a person.
“Never mind,” the Governor said. “Officer Wales, you may7 stop by the box office to collect your reward, and then you are dismissed.”
“Yes, sir.” Officer Wales zipped into the elevator and vanished.
As for me, I wasn’t so lucky. But I wasn’t scared. All I felt in that moment was complete anger.
“Hello, Audrun,” said the Governor, gazing at his clasped hands. I felt a shiver when he said my name in his slippery voice. “You’ve caused a lot of trouble for all of us, you know. Quite a lot of trouble.”
I didn’t reply.
“And us, we. Don’t like little mages who cause trouble,” he continued. “Not one little bit.” He still wasn’t looking at me.
“Um, given the fact that you were going to kill me if you caught me, I think it’s pretty justified that I ran away,” I pointed out.
He tsked. “Oh, Audrun. Is that what you think we would’ve done? We don’t kill the mages we capture.”
“What?” I said. My world shivered, ever so slightly, beneath my feet. Could the government be less evil than I’d thought? “What do you do with them?”
“Well, that’s for me to know and you to find out, Audrun.” The Governor tapped his fingers on the table. “You’ll find out very soon, in fact. But there is one little worrying fact: we can’t have revolutionaries like you tearing up our perfect world and shattering the peace. And no matter what we did to you, what if you escaped? You’d just get right back to revolutionizing when really, everything’s just fine the way it is. I personally think we should get rid of you, but that decision is up to Cassiopeia.”
“Who?”
“Cassiopeia,” he replied. “Archmage, sister to Orion and Gemini, true leader of our world and my mother.”
||||||||||||||||||
Yay, he found out! Things move along!
||Haley||
"Have you seen Audrun?" I asked Tsume.
The older girl shook her head. "No."
I frowned. Tsume really seemed emotionless. We'd all gone through so much to get here, and I thought she could be a little warmer.
I checked with Seri, even though talking to her felt like eating a cake with too much sugar. But even she hadn't seen Audrun.
Crystal opened her eyes, yawning vigorously. She looked around. "Ah, wow, we crossed the river. Yay. Ah, hi, Haley. I see you made it back." She tossed her white hair and stood up. Rapidly her eyes scanned the camp. She turned to Voyti.
"Did we lose anyone?"
The lead mage shook his head. "No-one."
"EXCEPT FOR AUDRUN!" I shouted. "He's missing and nobody's seen him!"
Voyti looked annoyed. "That little scrap. he probably ran off because he got rejected my a girl or something."
I wanted to scream in frustration. Did anyone care?
Crystal, though, looked alarmed. I started to feel relieved, until she said, "What if he's betrayed us to the government?"
Voyti frowned. "Why would he do that?"
"Think about it!" Crystal exclaimed, waving her arms. "If he turned us in, the government might just let HIM go! Exchange 50 mages for 1, right?! And he and his friends all brought ID cards into the camp, not only alerting the government to our position, but also forcing us to move camp, thereby making us vulnerable. It all fits! And they're probably his accomplices!" She pointed, to my utter alarm, at us.
"Wait, no!" I protested. "We aren't doing anything like that!"
"Please, Crystal," Stephanie added. "You're are friend!"
Crystal snorted. "I'm not friends with anyone."
Voyti shook his head. "I don't know if it's true," he said to us, "but I have to protect my mages first and foremost. If there's any chance that you're a danger to us, I can't let that slip by." He gestured o his mages. "I'm afraid I must lock you away for the timebeing, until we receive proof in either direction."
"I'm afraid I can't let that happen," said a voice.
We all turned. There, leaning against a tree with a self-righteous smirk on his face, stood a guy I'd never seen before.
Crystal took a step back as if slapped. "Vito...Strangelove."
"In the flesh." He gave a little wave. "As for you three," he said to me, Tsume, and Steohanie, "you're coming with me."
Crystal looks very shocked. Of course she does. I'm kinda mad I had to reveil myself, but whatever! They can't lock those guys up.
"What are you doing here?" Crystal said glaring at me intensely.
"Awww, don't be mad. I just had to step in. You can't lock those guys up! Well, you could, but it will be verrrry bad!" I said mockingly. (Is that a word?)
"GET OUT OF HERE!" Crystal yelled.
"Hmmmm. Nope!" I said.
"I'll make you!" Crystal said.
Uh-oh. She actually could. And easily. Shoot. I thought of an answer. "Well, if you do that I will kill you in your sleep!" I said.
"No you won't. You can't." she smirked.
"Hmph!"
"Settle down! Was willst du with my students?" Voyti said.
"Nothing, just not ti have them locked up." I answered. "Now, as I said before, you three are coming with me!"
"Nope. You cannot make me go. they can go, but i won't!" crystal said stubbornly.
Sadly, this was true. It was impossible to make her go with me. RGH! What to do now?
I sighed. This guy was a weirdo, for sure. "Why do we have to go with you?" I demanded.
But Vito wasn't looking at me. He was looking around. "Crystal, where's Audrun?" he demanded.
Crystal glared at him. "I don't know. Maybe he betrayed us to the government."
Vito rolled his eyes. "As if he would. That guy's got zero guts."
Vito turned towards us.
"Do you know where Audrun is?" he asked.
"No. I'm worried he was captured!" I exclaimed.
"Captured! That just can't happen!" The guy was looking very upset. "Audrun's Auzrivlia's only hope! We've been cultivating his power since he was a child!"
I just stared back stupidly.
"What do you mean by that?!" demanded Voyti.
Vito frowned. "Like I'd tell you!"
Crystal stomped up behind him. "Answer him or I'll blast you with lightning," she declared.
Vito frowned at her. "Fine!" he exclaimed. "Everyone's born with Mage power. Bt the government devised a vaccination that would single out one power from the rest for certain people, and in others, remove the power entirely. My group was able to immunize a small group of kids against the vaccination. (Yes, we immunized against a supposed immunization, even though its a lie.) Audrun is the only one who remains."
Hey...can someone post PLEASE POST?!
||AUDRUN||
Yet again I was shoved into an elevator, this time by the Governor himself. Should I feel honored? Hmm. Definitely not.
I tried to process this new information in my head, but it was too much to take.
Cassiopeia. A hidden force, controlling things from the inside? The darkest of the original leaders? A familiar refrain. It sounded like various novels/movies I had read/watched. But somehow the real thing was much scarier.
The Governor hadn’t bothered to chain up my hands and my powers were starting to come back, bit by bit. I could feel the emotions churning the air, and I could see flashes of the Governor’s thoughts. Well hidden thoughts of course.
We reached an ornate door emblazoned with the phrase POWER TO THOSE WHO DESERVE IT. I gritted my teeth.
“Oh yeah,” I began, “I know about—” Then I snapped my mouth shut. If the Governor found out Haley and Stephanie had told me about how everyone could have a power, they’d be in trouble. Not that the government could find them, but their families.
The ornate door creaked open. Inside was a huge room. Stone pillars similar to those in our. School supported the ceiling, and on them crouched live gargoyles who spread their wings and snorted at eachother calmly. The floor was engraved with strange patterns.
At the opposite end of the room was a dark ebony throne and on it sat a woman. Her face was in shadow as she was bent over something, but she wore a red dress and a tiny gold crown decorated her head. Her skin was completely white.
She looked up then and her eyes seemed to pierce my soul. I froze.
“Who is this?” she asked. Her voice, I decided, sounded like shattering ice. Her eyes were completely black.
“The Mage that’s been making trouble, your Majesty.”
So she’s like a queen, I thought, breaking eye contact.
“Ah, yes. Audrun Spikelet. You wanted to execute him, correct?” said Cassiopeia.
“Ahem. Yes. But I need your approval.”
I glared at them. “Um, didn’t anyone teach you it’s ruse to talk about someone’s demise in front of them?”
There was a moment of frigid silence. Then Cassiopeia sniffed.
“Good Gemini, no-one’s spoken to me like that in mellenia.”
I shrank under her gaze, despite my attempts not to be quelled. She radiated power and under her eyes I felt like I was being literally speared.
“I don’t particularly care,” Cassiopeia said, “but I don’t like to kill off my power sources unless they really annoy me. And he might have information. Have you been running about with that little rebellion?” she asked.
I froze, trying to put up a wall around my thoughts.
“Did you think I didn’t know? They’ve escaped my attempts to quell them for the past century. But someday…” She sighed. “Very well. Take him away, extract some power form him, whatever.” She waved one elegant hand. “I’ll see what I can get out of him tomorrow.” And with that, she turned away.
"I... fine. I'll come." Better doing... whatever it is we're gonna do.... with Haley, Stephanie and that weirdo than hang around here with grumpy Voyti and everyone reading my mind.
Ah.
Well. Should've thought this through.
"Ahem." I say, trying to force my quivering voice to sound menacing. "You better leave this place if you know what's good for you."
"Uh-huh," said the guard, gazing skeptically at my five foot, skinny frame. (seven foot frame, rats along his back, when he calls your name-- sorry I'll stop now). "Look, little girl, I don't know what your deal is but you seem very suspicious and I think you're hiding something important. I'd like you to come with us."
"I may be little" I gulped, "but I'm actually more powerful than you could possibly-"
It only took one hit for me to fall, groaning, to the floor. The guard pointed some sort of dangerous-looking weapon at me, and glared, daring me to speak. I raised my hands slowly, and the guard smirked, satisfied.
"Stand up, girl. Soon we'll find out what you're hiding."
