Wings of Fire
Wings of Fire Roleplay!!
Alright, so in this roleplay the canon characters do not and have not existed. The wall of weird IceWing aristocracy rankings was never broken. There is no decades-long rivalry between any tribes (y'know, besides the usual "my tribe is better" junk.) The Lost Continent is common knowledge. SilkWings are still servants of HiveWings, but there is no mind control. LeafWings' existence is not a secret and they live in a secluded forest. There is a school just like Jade Mountain, Unity Academy, but it exists on an island between the two continents and takes tribes from both continents. Scavengers are treated as they were before book 14 or Dragonslayer, in fact of even less importance because of the lack of the War of SandWing Succession. They are of little consequence to this story.
Other than that the world is the same.
There can only be one Animus dragon for each tribe- it's first come, first serve (and only for Pantalan dragons.) Only one blood-red egg MudWing and only one firey-scales SkyWing. One character can be a hybrid for each roleplayer. Four leafspeakers, four flamesilks.
There are five winglets in the school, just like Jade Mountain: Ruby, Topaz, Emerald, Sapphire, and Amethyst, each consisting of ten dragons. You do not have to be a student.
All righty then!

Does Seaweed have a roommate yet? If she's not dorming with anybody, my OC (Prism) can share a room with her.
(October 4, 2021 - 11:08 am)
If I am correct Seaweed is in a triple with Ash, my character, and Kakapo, Tsuki's.
(October 4, 2021 - 5:04 pm)
Hey, a few hours ago it said The Sage Wolf commented, then TSW@Tsuki, but neither messages have shown up for me...
Apologies, we've been having technical difficulties today and were having trouble posting. Fixed now! --admin

I drew a kinda wonky drawing of Ash today and redid his backstory because I was bored in Latin class :0 his cheek looks weird because I messed up and had to use whiteout but all in all I think it looks okay?

Ahhhhh, Raven, it looks great!!!

I curl up in my carefully-woven hammock and gaze at my dorm-mates. I can’t believe it: I’m sharing a dorm with Anthophora!! And a NightWing-Icewing hybrid with silver scales by her eyes. That means something, but I can’t remember what. I open my orientation scroll and examine the map. I can’t wait to explore! I wonder if Anthophora would want to come with me.
“Want to explore?” I ask him, giving his shoulder a gentle tap.
“Huh?” He looks up, adjusting his glasses. “Hey, Swallowtail, right? Sure, that sounds fun. I want to check out the library.”
“Me too.” I love reading. I turn to the NightWing-IceWing hybrid. “Hey, Ender right? Do you want to come?”
They yawn elegantly. “No, thank you. I flew all the way here from the forest yesterday, and I would like to settle in.”
“Oh, ok.” That makes sense, I guess. Me, there’s so much adrenaline racing through my scales that I want to bounce around. “Come on, Anthophora.”
He adjusts his small glasses and follows me out the door.
We’re in a hallway lit by pretty light globes. I flick my wings back and peer out one of the round glass windows. Below, I can see a neat row of greenhouses, and I wonder what’s in them. I guess I’ll go check it out later.
“I think the library’s this way,” Anthophora says. I nod and follow him down the tunnel. I notice a LeafWing hanging more lamps.
“Hi,” she says. She’s older than me, and bigger. She checks a list in her talons. “Anthophora and Swallowtail, correct? I’m Maple.” She must be one of the teachers.
“Yup,” I say. She waves with her tail as we go by and says, “If you need anything, let me know.”
We found the library soon enough. The librarian is a SandWing with pale cream scales and streaks of pink around her nose. She smiles at us and Anthophora stares at her in fascination.
“I’ve never seen a SandWing,” he explains to me as we settle down in a corner. “I can’t believe they really have tail barbs.”
“From the tribe with stingers in their talons.”
“I don’t have any,” he protested. “Polybia does, but she doesn’t use them.”
I flick my wings back and run a claw along the scrolls available. “What do you like to read about?”
“The other tribes,” he says dreamily. “I want to know all about them. What natural weapons do they have? What are their histories? Who are their rulers?” He stops suddenly. “Oops. I’m babbling all this to a total stranger. You must think me very weird.”
“Not at all,” I assure him. “It’s fascinating.”
“What do you like to read?” he asks, pulling a scroll called The Evolution of the IceWings from the shelf.
I shrug. “Adventure stories.”
We read for a while, then get up as a group of IceWings come into the library. “C’mon,” Anthophora suggests. “Let’s go take a look at those greenhouses.

I look over at Swallowtail as we pad down the hallway. Her big, beautiful wings are folded back. I wonder how they do that—HiveWing wings can’t fold like that. And she’s a flamesilk. What causes that? How do some SilkWings have fire in their silk, and others don’t? I want to ask, but I’m a little nervous. What if she thinks I’m weird? I don’t want to scare away my first friend in this new school.
The sun is shining brightly when we step out of the caves, and I have to shield my eyes. I can see the ocean gleaming brightly not too far away. The greenhouses glint in the sun.
Swallowtail spreads her wings and floats gently down towards the gardens. I flutter after her, thinking about how interestingly shaped her wings are, until we land in the gardens.
We reach the first greenhouse. Some other dragons are already there, watering the plants or carefully inserting flamesilk into the lamps. We push open the door and go inside.
Plants I don’t know the name of brush my wings as we walk deeper into the greenhouse. Swallowtail knows them, apparently, and she talks about them as we walk deeper.
“This one is morning glory. There seems to be a lot of that around. That’s a miniature pine tree. That one’s Black Fern. That one…”
“You sure know a lot about plants,” I say.
For some reason, she blushes. “Oh. I used to help my mom garden, back in the hive.”
I flick back my wings. “What hive were you from?”
“Cicada.”
“I’m from Yellowjacket.” We walk out of the greenhouse. A blast of cool wind ruffles my wings. I’m so excited to be at this school!

I love everything that’s transpired since I was last on here. And I’m excited that my characters have dormmates! This’ll be fun!!
Here are some drawings I did of my dragons.
