Let's play a
Let's play a game.
Here's the rules- I'll start a story, and we'll all write it. You join, and I'll choose an order. Probably the order that you comment in. You join, and then I'll just start writing. No charrie sheets, this is a complete free-write. The main character and side characters will be developed as we write about them, and will probably change throughout the plot that goes randomly.
Hopefully that made sense. I concentrate better through numbered points so...
1. Join by next Wednesday to be part of this.
2. There will be an assigned order. If someone is over a week late to their turn of the story, the next person may write the part.
3. There are really no rules to the writing. There will be one main character through the whole thing, and it's in third person.
4. Have fun! There's no genre, so write whatever. Even if it's super random, like someone getting arrested for eating spaghetti.
5. My name is the main charrie's name. You are welcome to guess me!
I hope to see you guys join!

Hi everyone, it is starting time.
The order will be
Joyce Jones (me)
Periwinkle
Milly Sunstar
Lightning Girl
Sterling
Jaybells
lolathe
As for addressing other things:
The main character is 15, so her friends can be any age, but I thought it would help to let you guys know.
You can create as many characters as needed.
Those we're just things I forgot to address posting in the thread earlier.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Here's the beginning of the story:
Joyce Jones ran through the woods, sprinting faster than she ever had. She stepped on leaves, twigs, and her feet squished in mud, but she didn't notice. She wasn't thinking about anything except what was ahead of her.
Joyce's mother had died in a fire two months earlier. She was a fireman, Ryen Jones. Her father was heartbroken, leaving Joyce and her older sister, Jeanne, to make money and run the house. Jeanne got a job doing laundry. She was 19, and her girlfriend ran the laundry place.
Joyce wasn't as lucky. She did lots of interviews, looked on her Dad's phone for jobs available. But no, none were. She kept looking until she surely was out. She hoped believing this would be like how her favorite book characters believed they were out of luck and then some miracle happens. Something to make her... she wasn't sure what the word was for that.
She wasn't that lucky, however. Joyce didn't get a special job or anything. She instead lived off of Jeanne and occasional loans from the government. The government thought their dad was well, though, and as soon as they found out he wasn't, they wanted to take Joyce to be adopted.
Joyce didn't want to be adopted. She wanted to keep living with her sister. She didn't care if she went to school or not, she just wanted the support of Jeanne. But Jeanne was at work, and the government was coming to the house. All Joyce could do was run away. Live in the wild, stuff like that.
But she wasn't so lucky. Police cars followed her. She ran, trusting her instincts and nothing else. She just had to RUN. She was going so fast and so long, but even one tree can ruin that. As she tripped on the root, she fell face-flat and wove in and out of consciousness. She remembered strong hands picking her up and putting her somewhere, before the whole world went dark.

Joyce's eyes flickered, flashes of lights blinded her only to make everything black out again. "hello?" A voice whispered, crackling and breaking. Joyce jumped, eyes opening to the blinding light. It was actually rather cozy in the room she was in. A simple cottage, something out of a child's book. "Who said that?" Joyce said, and a cat purred at her feet. "You." He said. Joyce's eyes widened. This simple-looking cat had talked to her. He didn't look much different from any cat she knew, with faded caramel stripes on a slightly darker tone of tangerine. "What do they call you?" asked Joyce, unable to process a simple thought. The cat smiled. "I am Causmik." The name tingled at the back of Joyce's memory, and she focused on it to ignore her terror. "That's familiar." Joyce whispered, and the cat nodded. "Yes, it could be." He said, smiling. "But familiar and known are two things, not one or one and a half." Joyce cocked her head, not wanting to question the cat but altogether very confused. "Do you live here alone?" Joyce asked Causmik. Causmik simply shook his head, and on cue a human being tumbled down the stairs the almost faded into the walls. "Causmik who's this!" The person shouted in a woman's voice, seemingly around the age of 60-ish. It wasn't even a question, more an accusation. "Her name is Joyce." Causmik said. "She doesn't have anywhere to go." Joyce jumped. The cat knew more about her than she told him. "Deary, Causmik reads minds." The lady says, and walks over to the oven. "Causmik, I told you not to do things like that! Reading people's minds!" She sits her plump body in the chair across from me. Her face wrinkles with age, and her clear grey-blue eyes speak of kindness. "Who took me here?" Joyce asked. The lady's face darkens.
Should I stop there or add more? I wasn't really sure; it didn't seem like a lot.

Since the post is posted, it's on the next person's turn so you can stop there. But for future references, you can write however much as you want! I only wrote a tiny bit, but that doesn't mean everyone has to write a tiny bit. Sorry if I confused you.

Aaaand I literally just gave away who I was.
oops!
So hi! It's Red Starlight! I'll still be going by Joyce, though, since it seems more suiting for the thread.
(July 9, 2021 - 8:45 pm)
Hello everyone!
I just saw the thread where Periwinkle said that she is to be taking a hiatus for the next three weeks, so we will move her to last. It will be the same order, except with Periwinkle last. Here's the new order:
Joyce Jones (me)1
Milly Sunstar
Lightning Girl
Sterling
lolathe
Periwinkle
The reason I have put a "1" next to my name is because I've written the first part of the writing. I will put a number next to everyone until we are all done. It's up to you guys how many rounds we dol! I hope you all have a great day!
(July 2, 2021 - 10:48 am)
Um, hiya! I think you skipped me in the list? I was second to last.
